Representing a Tough Crowd: The WR's in the NFL who Still Have My Respect
I want you to try to do something that might hurt your head.
Imagine a world where all the Wide Receivers in the NFL still had respect for the game. A place where they made the game fun by patting their QB on the back, and taking the blame for running a bad route.
I hope you enjoyed that place because it no longer exists. The WR's of the NFL have turned it into a mockery. I once liked listening to Chad Johnson. Do you know why I enjoyed it? Because he played so well. He had so many receiving yards it would make your head spin. What is Chad "Ocho Cinco" Johnson now? He's nothing. He is at the bottom of every single Fantasy Football stat sheet.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Guys like T.O. make me shutter. Guys that can get looked at for 33% of your teams plays and complain about it. Guys who can cry after a playoff loss and play it off like defending your quarterback. You know... The quarterback. Like the one in Philly who he blamed all of his problems on. Horrible.
Well. Its time to make that fantasy world a place of reality. Its time the B/R readers get an insight on the guys who still make me smile. Guys who can make acrobatic catches, and the only thing they can say is "What a throw huh"? Here are ten guys who will have my respect through 2008, and even deeper into their careers if they continue this stellar attitude.
10. Greg Jennings, Green Bay Packers
The guy is great. It's really all you can say about him. He is now with his second quarterback and he is still making an immense amount of plays.
Jennings also caught Brett Favre's touchdown pass to break Dan Marino's record. Most people don't know that. Why? Cause he didn't have a press conference to let the world know
9. T.J. Houshmandzadeh, Cincinnati Bengals
He almost doesn't deserve a spot on the list for only one reason. When you play with Chad Johnson, even if you spoke out against the team, noone would ever know.
He was tied for the lead in receptions last year with 112 and had another great year. An exceptional route runner who can play the slot like no other. When was the last time you saw a video of Houshmandzadeh that showcased his mouth instead of his hands?
8. Santana Moss, Washington Redskins
The day he was drafted out of the University of Miami, he had big play potential. Like Jennings, another thing that makes him a perfect fit for this is the amount of QB's he has played with, including Mark Brunell, Todd Collins, Chad Pennington, and Jason Campbell
As a teenager he was constantly made fun of for his size when he said he dreamed of being a wide reciever. Size isn't a factor anymore for Moss, as his quickness and speed make him a threat to separate himself on every play
7. Larry Fitzgerald, Arizona Cardinals
Larry Fitzgerald is one half of the best 1-2 in the NFL right now. While Anquan Boldin could've been on this list, I wasn't a big fan of his holdout. Not in the least/
Fitzgerald has also played with a handful of guys including Kurt Warner, and Matt Leinart. He had previously held the record for most catches through the 30 games of a career until Reggie Bush broke the record with 199.
6. Amani Toomer, New York Giants
When you have spent your career on the same team with guys like Tiki Barber, Plaxico Burress, and Jeremy Shockey, you almost have to wonder if Toomer has ever spoken out loud in the locker room.
Toomer leads all Giants WR's in receiving yards, and receptions. He has played with a handful of guys including Kurt Warner, Danny Kannell, Kerry Collins, and now, Eli Manning. When Manning was being criticized as not being the "leader" type, Toomer was quoted as saying "He is just what New York needs".
5. Torry Holt, St. Louis Rams
Torry Holt was also part of a deadly 1-2 with former teammate Isaac Bruce. Though Bruce has moved on to San Fran, Holt has stayed with his favorite teammate and QB, Marc Bulger.
Unlike the guys who aren't on the list, Holt actually defends his QB. When Scott Linehan benched Bulger in the middle of the 2008 season, Holt took the blame for not being able to get open enough. Aren't all teammates supposed to be like this? *Sigh*
4. Chris Chambers, San Diego Chargers
The numbers that Chambers put up in Miami, with nothing but horrible lines, awful QB's, and no other offensive weapons, absolutely shocked me. His touchdown total in MIA of 42 blew my mind.
Wanna know why I hadn't really noticed that Chambers was doing as well as he was? The media will take the talk over the walk any day of the week.
3. Hines Ward, Pittsburgh Steelers
Ward is essentially on this list for only two reasons.
Number one. Ward absolutely loves to play the game. In fact, more than anyone on this list. I mean, when is the last time you saw the guy without a smile on his face?
Number two. Blocking. He has constantly been called one of the most successful blockers in WR history and seeing some reels, it doesn't surprise me. He believe in performing to his fullest in every aspect of his job, something most guys forget to do.
2. Reggie Wayne, Indianapolis Colts
It really took a lot for me to put him on this list, especially after knowing that Harrison would be my number one.
At the same time, who else deserves to be here? I could've put the whole Colts team on here now that I think about it. He's still young, has great hands, and can run a route on a dime. Who knew he could do that with the kind of speed he has [Let's just say... In fact... It's so bad let's NOT say] All this while still making acrobatic grabs, great blocks, and still doesn't open his mouth. He's a champ in my book.
1. Marvin Harrison, Indianapolis Colts
You didn't really expect anyone else to be number one did you?
He is one of the top ten best wide-outs in the history of the game and does it all with his hands, his feet, and his intelligence.
He displayed tremendous chemistry early on with Peyton Manning and hasn't slowed down until 2008. Harrison is an example of what ever NFL WR should be. They should make highschool players watch game film of this guy, and I don't mean on the field, I mean behind the scenes.
You know you have a good guy when you have to FORCE him to have a press conference at the Superbowl media day.
Didn't make the List
There were a lot of guys I wanted to put on here that I couldn't fit including Donald Driver, Deion Branch, and Isaac Bruce.
I hope this takes your mind off the guys who run their mouth and disrespect the game many of us have come to love. Maybe the Brandon Marshall's and Calvin Johnson's of the future can shed some new light.
