Mayhem Miller: Making the Case for Him to Coach The Ultimate Fighter 14
If Chael Sonnen doesn't get to coach The Ultimate Fighter 14, you can make the case for Jason "Mayhem" Miller to coach the first season of bantamweights and featherweights.
Mayhem threw himself into the running for coaching the 14th season of the reality show, in the event that Sonnen runs into too many problems that would stop him from coaching.
"@DanaWhite Chael can't make it to the party? I'd happily be the American Hero. Put me on TUF, watch the ratings explode," Mayhem said via his Twitter account.
Now if there is one guy who would really get into the head of Michael Bisping, it's Mayhem. If you haven't seen Mayhem hosting his show Bully Beatdown on MTV2, he's the craziest guy and knows how to irk someone.
I mean look at what he did at Strikeforce: Nashville. He started an entire brawl in the middle of the cage. Like I said, he knows how to get under someone's skin. Not only did he start a brawl, he held his own when everyone ganged up on him.
Those guys who ganged up on him? Current Strikeforce lightweight champion Gilbert Melendez, welterweight champion Nick Diaz and Diaz's brother (a UFC fighter), Nate.
Mayhem's personality is one factor, and another is the viewers he would bring in from the audience that watches Bully Beatdown. If you want ratings and draw viewers in, Mayhem is your man.
Miller is also a solid fighter—24-7 with one no-contest. Only two of his losses have come via submission or knockout.
The only losses he hasn't avenged? Georges St-Pierre, Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza, Jake Shields, Frank Trigg and the man he would be filling in for on The Ultimate Fighter 14, Chael Sonnen.
Mayhem would give Bisping a run for his money in a fight between them because he is a fighter who can hang with the best of them. Mayhem has beaten fighters like Robbie Lawler, Tim Kennedy, Dennis Kang and, most recently, an old Kazushi "The Gracie Hunter" Sakuraba.
Let's have Mayhem step up and be the "American Hero." Why not? Mayhem could bring in ratings and hold his own in a fight with Bisping.
