Young Blues Hammer the Rossoneri

Chelsea's Reserve side today produced a very impressive performance against their Italian counterparts from AC Milan, beating them 4-0.

The friendly fixture, played at Chelsea's Cobham training facility this morning, gave Chelsea's stars of the future a chance to showcase their abilities, and they took that chance in an impressive fashion.

Goals from Miroslav Stoch and Fabio Borini—the first a penalty and the second a tidy finish from a Sergio Tejera chest down—put Chelsea 2-0 up after just 10 minutes.

The game then settled down, and Milan almost reduced the deficit, but a header hit the post instead of the back of the net.

Milan were reduced to ten men midway through the second half, captain Nicola Pasini dismissed for a tackle on Stoch.

Goals three and four took a while to come, and Stoch provided assists for both of them, allowing Fabio Ferreira and Morten Nielsen to get on the score sheet.

Reserve team manager Brendan Rogers was understandably delighted with the performance.

"I think when you play those sorts of games and have a scoreline like that against a club like that it is very pleasing," he said.

"As we expected, walking off the pitch after winning a game is very pleasing and four goals and a clean sheet is very pleasing, especially against one of the biggest clubs in the world. Our form and performances continue."

Rogers also had some words of praise for Stoch—who was an unused substitute for the first team against Portsmouth and CFR Cluj.

"Miroslav is technically very strong and go both sides, he can move and we saw that today, he ran forward, ran back and was outstanding," Rodgers told Chelsea TV.
