Wrestlemania XXVII: Analyizing and Predicting the Biggest Show of the Year

Jun 5, 2018

This Sunday night, the Georgia Dome in Atlanta will be the sight of the 27th annual Wrestlemania pay-per-view extravaganza. This year's event has a buzz about it that has been missing in the last three events. The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and Trish Stratus have returned to this year's spectacle. Media presence will be upped thanks to the inclusion of Snooki from Jersey Shore.

There is also an abundance of curiosity with regards to the young, inexperienced talent populating this year's card. Can the members of the Corre, Alberto Del Rio, Cody Rhodes, and The Miz prove they are worthy of their spot on this year's card?

One thing is for certain, this year's card has wrestling fans buzzing with anticipation. Join me for an in-depth look at the "Grandaddy of them All."

8-Man Tag Team Match

The match with the least build on the Wrestlemania card, the eight-man tag match featuring Big Show, Kane, Santino Marella, and Vladimir Kozlov taking on The Corre is the result of two separate rivalries.

Upon Wade Barrett's debut on Smackdown in late December/early January, he immediately set his sights on Big Show. When Ezekiel Jackson, Justin Gabriel, and Heath Slater joined Barrett to form the Corre, each week Big Show was forced to fight for his survival, often in four-on-one situations. Show was often over-powered by Ezekiel Jackson and it appeared as though a clash between the two titans was inevitable.

Then, with three weeks to go before Wrestlemania, Barrett and company attempted to persuade Kane to take out Big Show. Never one to be manipulated, Kane joined Big Show in attacking the Corre and an unlikely combination was made.

At Elimination Chamber in February, Gabriel and Slater defeated Santino Marella and Vladimir Kozlov to become the new WWE Tag Team Champions. Over the next several weeks, rematches netted the same result. Then, on the March 21 edition of Raw, Kane and Big Show rescued Santino and Kozlov from a beat down at the hands of the Corre, setting up the eight man tag that will occur this Sunday.

While this will count as the first Wrestlemania for the young stars of the Corre, the match will serve little purpose than to get all eight men on the card. Time for the contest will most certainly be limited and it will consist, more than likely, of the signature spots of the eight men involved. Look for the contest to receive maybe six, seven minutes at the most.

Prediction

The Corre has plenty to prove in this match. Since being a part of the hottest act of the summer and fall, Wade Barrett, Justin Gabriel, and Heath Slater have slowly fallen back into the rest of the pack. Gone is the mega-push they previously enjoyed and now, they must continue to push themselves to the best performances possible if they hope not to fall off the radar.

Big Show and Kane seemed firmly entrenched in the mid-card on Smackdown, with occasional strolls into the main event possible. Santino and Kozlov are a very over comedy act on Raw whose presence on the card is questionable. With that said, I expect BIG SHOW, KANE, SANTINO, AND KOZLOV to walk away from the Georgia Dome with their arms raised in victory.

United States Champion Sheamus Defends Against Daniel Bryan

2 of 9

The story behind the Sheamus-Daniel Bryan match for the United States Championship is a simple one. The victim of a long losing streak, Sheamus wrongly assumed Bryan and girlfriend Gail Kim were laughing at him following a loss on Raw. On the March 7 edition of Raw, Daniel Bryan defeated Sheamus by count-out in a title match. Enraged that he had added to his seemingly never-ending losing streak, Sheamus vowed to win the United States on the March 11 Raw or leave the brand for good.

It was on that episode of Raw that Sheamus and Daniel Bryan engaged in a hard-fought, highly physical battle that saw the Celtic Warrior use his power to defeat the more technically sound Bryan. It was Sheamus' third championship victory, this time for the United States title.

On the March 28 edition of Raw, just six days away from Wrestlemania, Sheamus teamed with Dolph Ziggler to defeat the team of Daniel Bryan and John Morrison. This Sunday, in Atlanta, will Sheamus be able to continue his new-found winning ways by defeating the technician Daniel Bryan or will Bryan realize his dream of leaving Wrestlemania victorious, one arm raised in victory, the other clutching the United States Championship?

Look for a very hard fought, if not stiff match reminiscent of the one they had on Raw on March 11. Sheamus has taken a step back from his match against Triple H on last year's show and Bryan has stumbled since the push that yielded him the US title in the first place. Both men have something to prove not only to the WWE fans but also to WWE management. A solid performance for Sheamus could result in the Celtic Warrior regaining his position in the main event scene on Raw. Daniel Bryan could resume what was a solid push if he can capitalize on this opportunity.

Prediction

The match result could go either way. A victory for Sheamus would continue his slow trek back to the main event on Raw, something he needs if he hopes to have as successful a 2011 as he had in 2010. On the other hand, the decisive victory for Sheamus over Daniel Bryan in the tag match featured on the final Raw before Wrestlemania would seem to indicate that Bryan gets the win back at Wrestlemania. I say WWE has too much invested in Sheamus to quickly take the US title off of him. SHEAMUS wins in eight to 10 minutes.

6-Person Tag Team Match

John Morrison and Dolph Ziggler, respectively, enjoyed the best year of either of their careers in 2010. Morrison finally looked like a polished competitor ready to spring board into the main event scene on Raw. Dolph Ziggler, upon hooking up with Vickie Guerrero as an on-screen couple, enjoyed a lengthy reign as Intercontinental Champion and eventually spent time in the main event World Heavyweight Championship picture, feuding with Edge over the coveted title. For either man to miss out on a Wrestlemania match would have been a travesty.

Michelle McCool and Layla once again dominated in the Divas division in 2010. The most consistently over female act, outside of Vickie Guerrero, in WWE, Lay-Cool served as co-Women's Champions before unifying the Divas and Women's titles with a victory over Melina at SummerSlam. Whether or not Michelle's behind-the-scenes connection to the Undertaker is the source of Lay-Cool's continued dominance over the rest of the Divas or not, it is undeniable that she and Layla show the most charisma and Michelle is consistently one of the better in-ring performers on the female roster.

On the March 14 edition of Raw, hosted by Snooki from Jersey Shore, Vickie Guerrero faced Trish Stratus in a match to determine whether or not she would have a job on Monday Night Raw. Thanks to interference from Lay-Cool, Vickie defeated the former seven-time Women's Champion and earned her employment on the Raw brand. Immediately following the bell, Lay-Cool traded words with Snooki, which led to a brawl between Trish and Snooki and the villainous Lay-Cool brats. John Morrison rushed to the aid of Trish and Snooki when Dolph Ziggler got involved, proving to be a foil for the former Intercontinental and World Heavyweight Champion. Vickie immediately issued a challenge for the six-person tag match at Wrestlemania and Snooki wasted no time in accepting.

The following week, on the March 21 edition of Raw, Dolph Ziggler, Lay-Cool, and Vickie Guerrero teamed to defeat John Morrison and Trish Stratus in a four-on-two handicap match that saw Vickie score the winning pin over Morrison, thanks to Dolph's finisher the Zig-Zag. One week later, Ziggler once again had the upper hand over Morrison, this time in a tag match that saw him tag with Sheamus and Morrison with Daniel Bryan. Meanwhile, in "New Jersey" (Miami, FL, to be exact), Lay-Cool confronted Trish and Snooki at a bar and a pull-apart encounter ensued.

The initial push for the match seemed energetic, and the press covered Snooki's appearance thoroughly, especially on TMZ.com, cable network E!, and Access Hollywood. Since then, with Snooki only making a small appearance on Raw six days from Wrestlemania, the heat and anticipation for the match has died considerably. WWE has fumbled the ball with what should have been a memorable return for Trish Stratus, and John Morrison and Dolph Ziggler are treated as afterthoughts in relation to the women involved.

I expect the match to get a good amount of time, somewhere between 12-15 minutes. I also expect a well-booked match that will get the company the media exposure it hoped for by including Snooki as well as a few signature spots involving Trish Stratus and Lay-Cool. Lastly, Vickie Guerrero will most likely involve herself in some manner and may prove to be a very entertaining aspect of the contest, as she almost always is.

Prediction

Is there really any way the faces do not leave Wrestlemania victorious here? Dolph and company have dominated the build to the match and it would only seem fitting for Snooki, responsible for significant mainstream coverage, to win her Wrestlemania match. JOHN MORRISON, TRISH STRATUS, AND SNOOKI leave victorious.

Randy Orton vs CM Punk

Credit: WWE.com

Ah yes, the Wrestlemania match three years in the making. At Unforgiven 2008, then fan-favorite World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk was scheduled to defend his title in a Championship Scramble match against five of Raw's best and biggest stars. Before his match, however, he was involved in a confrontation with Randy Orton and Legacy (Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes) that saw him attacked and eventually punted in the head by the man that would go on to be nicknamed "The Viper." Punk would have the title stripped from him that night, due to injury. Other than a forgotten match on Raw, CM Punk was denied the revenge he valued against Orton.

Fast forward three years to the Royal Rumble. Randy Orton was on the verge of dethroning The Miz and becoming WWE Champion once again. With the referee distracted by Miz apprentice Alex Riley, Orton seemed ready to uncoil and strike the champion with an RKO. Then, in an initially confusing act, CM Punk emerged from underneath the ring and delivered the GTS to Randy, a maneuver that assured the Miz a victory and reignited a rivalry that had had twenty-four months to cool.

Punk claimed he did what he did because Orton cost him his dream of being the World Heavyweight Championship. Now flanked by ambitious, dangerous rookies known as the new Nexus, Punk promised to continue repaying Orton. Randy had other plans. He struck Nexus, eliminating each young star one at a time with his dangerous running kick to the skull until only Punk remained. Feeling a bit vulnerable, Punk decided to make things personal on the March 21 edition of Raw.

Outside the arena, Scott Stanford interviewed Randy Orton at his tour bus. It was in that interview that Randy indicated that he travels with his wife and daughter and that both were on the bus. Later in the night, as he competed in a "Wrestlemania Rewind" match with Rey Mysterio, Orton was surprised by the appearance of CM Punk on the video screen, standing outside the very tour bus Orton stated was his. Punk provoked Orton, going as far as to say he was going to visit Randy's family. Orton sprinted from the ring and to the parking garage. From out of nowhere, he was attacked by a wrench-wielding Punk, who took out the very leg Orton used to eliminate each member of Punk's Nexus faction.

The final Raw before Wrestlemania saw Punk once again provoke Orton into attacking. As the injured "Viper" made his way to the ring, Punk attempted an attack. Orton fought him off, even landing a DDT through the top and middle ropes, a signature Orton maneuver. However, rather than settling for the RKO, Orton attempted the running kick, only for his leg to give out. The moment of weakness was all it took for Punk to decimate Orton with the GTS and leave the multiple time WWE Champion lying. Scott Stanford caught up with Orton later. Randy declared that he hates CM Punk more than he ever hated anyone else. He vowed retribution at Wrestlemania.

More than any other OFFICIAL match at Wrestlemania, the match between CM Punk and Randy Orton is personal. It features classic professional wrestling booking and is a no frills affair. There are no media darlings, no former Attitude era superstars involved. Two current Superstars, at the top of their games, performing a WRESTLING match at Wrestlemania. While not receiving the same attention as other contests on the card, Punk and Orton have the opportunity to steal the show.

Both men had somewhat of disappointing nights at Wrestlemania XXVI, with Orton competing in an uninspired triple threat match against Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase and Punk having an extremely short match with Rey Mysterio. This year, they can make up for that with a very physical, well-booked contest. Is it likely many will remember the match the next morning, what with Cena-Rock-Miz and Undertaker-HHH also on the card? Not necessarily. But this match could be the basis for a months-long feud between the two that goes well beyond Wrestlemania and into Extreme Rules and Over the Limit as well.

Prediction

It may continue a pattern here with babyfaces going over but I cannot see CM Punk beating Randy Orton unless a debut of a new Nexus member occurs. Punk has been consistently getting the better of Orton on Raw for the last two or three weeks and while appearing as a believable threat to Randy, feels like a heel more destined to take full control of the rivalry after Wrestlemania. RANDY ORTON wins an intense match in about 16 minutes, give or take a few.

Rey Mysterio vs Cody Rhodes

On the January 21 edition of Smackdown, Rey Mysterio went one-on-one with Cody Rhodes. Rhodes dominated the majority of the contest, exposing Rey's knee and the brace that protected it. Just as it appeared Cody was on his way to victory, Mysterio sent him into the ropes and executed a 619, his brace catching Rhodes in the face and "breaking" his nose.

Rhodes was sidelined unable to compete in the Royal Rumble match. For weeks, he conducted interviews with his back to the camera or his face shrouded in the darkness of a boiler room. He whined and complained that his once dashing looks had been reduced to a mangled mess because of Mysterio. On February 25, Dusty Rhodes came to the ring on behalf of his son and apologized to Rey. He introduced Cody and told him to be a man, to apologize for his words and actions against Mysterio.

Instead, Dusty swerved Rey and Cody beat the former World Champion down. He brutalized Rey, throwing him head-first into the WWE stage and taking his mask from him. A succession of squash matches over the likes of JTG and Trent Baretta ensued with Rhodes competing in a suit and coming to the squared circle with a dark towel draped over his face, which sported a protective mask. A challenge to Rey for a match at Wrestlemania was accepted.

This is one Wrestlemania match hard to get a handle on. Will Rey and Cody be alloted the amount of time to properly tell their story or will the true stand out match in their series be saved for Extreme Rules? Rey Mysterio hand-picked Cody Rhodes to be his Wrestlemania opponent, according to several reports across the internet. With that said, it is obvious Mysterio has no doubts about Rhodes' ability to tell a story and have a compelling, quality match. But Cody can potentially prove to the WWE writers that he belongs in the upper-card conversation on Smackdown.

Prediction

Here is where the baby face streak of wins comes to an end. Since day one, Rey has had the upper hand in this rivalry with Cody Rhodes. He initially caused the storyline injury and, with the exception of the Dusty swerve, has been positioned as the superior to Rhodes. That ends Sunday, when CODY RHODES scores the biggest victory of his career, cleanly, against Mysterio.

Jerry Lawler vs Michael Cole (Stone Cold Steve Austin as Guest Referee)

6 of 9

While Michael Cole's heel turn was initiated with his denouncement of Daniel Bryan during NXT Season One, it was not until Cole cost Jerry "the King" Lawler the WWE Championship in a TLC match against The Miz on the November 29 edition of Raw that Cole became the most hated man in World Wrestling Entertainment.

Since that day, Cole has become the most annoying, most overbaring man on WWE television and his rivalry with Jerry "the King" Lawler has offered the best build to a match on the entire Wrestlemania card. When Lawler came up short against Miz in a rematch at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view, Cole berated Lawler. He told "the King" that he had let down his recently deceased mother. Lawler challenged Cole to a match but the cowardly play-by-play commentator refused.

A week later, Cole accepted Jerry's challenge, but with a few conditions. First, he would have his trainer in his corner for the match. And secondly, he would get to choose a special guest referee. The first task for Cole was to announce Jack Swagger as his trainer. Then Cole appeared set to announce JBL as the special referee. When Stone Cold Steve Austin appeared and delivered a Stone Cold Stunner to John Bradshaw Layfield, Cole's plans were thrown a curveball. Austin signed the contract and officially became the referee for the Wrestlemania showdown between Cole and Lawler.

Michael Cole would gain a measure of revenge, however, when he and Swagger attacked Lawler and Hall of Fame announcer and long-time voice of WWE Jim Ross. With "The King" hurting at ringside, Swagger applied the ankle lock to Ross, injuring him enough for Cole to take over and loudly brag as he twisted and turned JR's ankle. On the final Raw before Wrestlemania, Cole and Swagger once again left Lawler lying in the squared circle.

Work rate wise, this may end up being one of the worst matches in the history of Wrestlemania. However, if you expected a wrestling match between Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler, you probably are not a regular viewer. The match between these two will be an exhibition in sports-entertainment. One of the biggest pops of the night will come when Jerry Lawler finally gets his hands on Cole, the payoff to a months-long storyline. Swagger will get involved, he will eat a Stunner from Austin, and Jim Ross may see some sort of screen time during the match as well. While not one of the most athletic matches on the card, it will be one of the most entertaining.

Prediction

The whole purpose of this match is for Jerry Lawler to beat up Michael Cole and give the fans what they have wanted to see for over a year now. JERRY LAWLER will win. Easiest pick of the night.

World Heavyweight Champion Edge Defends Against Alberto Del Rio

7 of 9
Credit: WWE.com

Alberto Del Rio hit the scene in October of 2010 and immediately was thrust into a main event feud with Rey Mysterio. It was during that rivalry that Del Rio first crossed paths with Edge. At the Tables, Ladders, and Chairs pay-per-view, Edge defeated Del Rio, Mysterio, and Kane to become World Heavyweight Champion in a spectacular TLC match. Despite the temporary speed bump the loss proved to be for Del Rio's rise up the ranks in World Wrestling Entertainment,

At the 2011 Royal Rumble, Del Rio outlasted an unexpected challenge from Santino Marella (yes, Santino Marella) to win the annual battle royal and earn the right to challenge the World Heavyweight Champion at Wrestlemania. Following one of the better Elimination Chamber matches in recent history, which saw Edge catch Rey Mysterio with a mid-air Spear for the win, Del Rio attacked Edge. Before any damage could be done, however, Christian made his return and attacked Del Rio, rescuing his former tag team partner from almost assured injury.

Early in Del Rio's tenure, on an episode of Smackdown, his attack on Christian left "Captain Charisma" with a torn pectoral muscle. Needless to say, when Christian returned to the Friday night brand, he had his sights set on Alberto. Over the last several weeks, Christian has waged war with the Mexican Superstar, beating him in consecutive weeks. On the March 28 edition of Raw, Christian and Edge were victorious in a tag team contest against Del Rio and his NXT rookie Brodus Clay.

With Christian and Clay getting involved in the weekly game of one-up between Edge and Del Rio, what role will they play at Wrestlemania? Will Del Rio prove that the faith WWE has invested in him to this point was worth it? The match should be one of the better on the show. With the World title on the line, I expect it to receive a decent amount of time and to be the most technically sound match on the card. Some question whether Clay deserves the spot he is in but he is a big man who plays the bodyguard-type character well. Christian at ringside is intriguing, for reasons I will get into next.

Prediction

This is one of the matches that could go either way. Common sense says Del Rio goes over and takes the World title. Common sense also said that Booker T would beat Triple H at Wrestlemania XIX and Orton would walk away from Wrestlemania XXV with the World title. They could always hold off on the title win until Extreme Rules. With that said, I predict ALBERTO DEL RIO wins the World Heavyweight Championship due to interference from Christian. One way, either on purpose or accidentally, Christian will get involved and cost Edge the title.

No Holds Barred Match: The Undertaker vs Triple H

8 of 9
Credit: WWE.com
Credit: WWE.com

Every year, there is one match on the Wrestlemania card guaranteed to get both the die hard and casual wrestling fan excited about that year's event. It is no longer the heavyweight championship match. Each and every year, fans tune into the "Grandaddy of Them All" to see whether or not the latest Superstar to try and end the undefeated streak of the legendary Undertaker was successful. This year, Undertaker meets a familiar foe. He is a thirteen time world champion, one of the most decorated Superstars of all-time, and a man who has something to prove to himself and the WWE fans. He is "the Game," Triple H.

For weeks leading up to 2-21-11, creepy video packages signaled the return of the "Dead Man" to WWE following a Buried Alive match loss to his brother Kane at Survivor Series and a rotator cuff injury that had proved to be excruciating to try and work through. One night removed from the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view, Undertaker made his return to Raw. As his music played and stood tall inside the squared circle, he was interrupted by Motorhead's "The Game." The fans in attendance erupted as Triple H made his entrance, perhaps the only WWE Superstar with the guts enough to interrupt someone as respected as the Undertaker. What resulted was epic story-telling at its best.

Time stood still as these two iconic figures in wrestling history stood face-to-face, toe-to-toe and did not speak a word. They stared each down and, using facial expressions and physical movements, set a Wrestlemania match in stone without having to resort to a twenty-minute promo laying out the premise of the contest.

Other than that one staredown on a February episode of Raw, the remaining build to the match consisted of interviews and extremely well-done video packages hyping the contest. Then on the March 28 episode of Raw, Shawn Michaels made his return to WWE TV during a scheduled face-off between "The Game" and "The Phenom." Triple H informed Undertaker that he knew now what it took to beat Undertaker and that Shawn knew as well. When he told Michaels to reveal the plan, Shawn walked away, almost as if he was reluctant to partake.

Outside of the WWE Championship match, there is no other contest more anticipated than this one. Two of the most popular Superstars in the history of the business facing off on the biggest stage the sport has to offer. A tenacious brawl with many high spots and close falls should be expected. Also look for match time to run somewhere north of 25:00. The only thing preventing this match from having the same, "instant classic" appeal that Undertaker and Shawn Michaels had the previous two years is the severe injury to Undertaker's rotator cuff. While I have no doubt he will tough it out and put forth 100% effort, it is unknown whether or not he can bring the same level of quality performance to this year's event that he did the two previous shows.

Prediction

I stand firm in my prediction that John Cena will be the man that ends the Undertaker's Wrestlemania streak. With that said, THE UNDERTAKER beats Triple H in a great match, though not to the level we have become accustomed to seeing from "The Dead Man" at Wrestlemania.

WWE Champion the Miz Defends Against John Cena

9 of 9
Credit: WWE.com
Credit: WWE.com

Some could trace the rivalry between The Miz and John Cena back to the summer of 2009 when The Miz joined the Raw brand and immediately began calling out Cena. For weeks, he called the former WWE Champion to the ring and every week, Cena refused to acknowledge him, for whatever reason. Then, at the Bash pay-per-view, Cena destroyed the Miz and sent the Real World cast member crashing back to reality. While the short feud did not elevate Miz to the upper stratosphere on Raw immediately, it did set in motion the push that would eventually result in his Money in the Bank win at the July 2010 pay-per-view and his WWE Championship win on Raw on November 22 of the same year.

While Miz was tied up with Raw commentator and WWE Hall of Famer Jerry Lawler for most of January and February, Cena was focused on becoming number one contender. At the Royal Rumble, Miz and Alex Riley cost Cena the opportunity to win the 30-man battle royal but Cena rebounded a month later, outlasting five other Raw stars to win the Elimination Chamber. As a result, he became number one contender.

Before the Elimination Chamber match, however, the special guest host for Wrestlemania was announced and to the surprise of many, The Rock made his return to WWE television. Immediately, he turned his attention to Cena, the man who spoke out on the Rock's turn to Hollywood and acting rather than his continued support of the WWE and its fans. In the ensuing weeks, Cena and Rock traded insults at one another, all the while The Miz went unnoticed. That all changed when The Miz attacked Cena and, not so formally, introduced himself to The Rock, who was at home.

The next week, Miz elevated the viciousness of his attack, beating on Cena and sending him face-first into a section of the WWE stage. Cena got his revenge with a win over Alex Riley in a Steel Cage match.

One the final Raw on the road to Wrestlemania, Cena, The Rock, and The Miz had their final showdown before the big show. Miz promised that he would not let the overrated Cena and the over-hyped Rock overshadow the "Most Must-See WWE Champion" of all-time. The champion's attack on Rock, however, proved flawed as he was flattened with a DDT and insulted with a People's Elbow. Cena, on the other hand, had a rather eventful night, laying waste to the Rock with an Attitude Adjustment.

The WWE Championship match at Wrestlemania is the kind of match this show was built it. It features two top stars battling over the most prestigious prize in the game and has a little extra sizzle added to it in the form of major celebrity involvement. The Rock is not returning to WWE. He is not acting in the role of a professional wrestler. Lost on most fans is that his involvement in this year's show is as a celebrity guest host, not unlike Bob Barker and Pee Wee Herman had been in the past. The difference between them is Rock formerly was a professional wrestler whose star rivaled only Hogan and Austin. But let's not forget the fact that Rock has Fast Five, a major motion picture, about to be released and there is no bigger or better way to advertise it to the WWE fans that at the biggest show of the year. Yes, he will be involved in the match. Yes, he will more than likely impact the outcome of the match. But John Cena and the Miz are the stars with the most to gain or lose based on what goes down in the main event of the show.

I expect a match between a memorable match between Cena and Miz. Despite his appearances on mainstream TV and late night shows and his never-ending appearances in other media ventures, The Miz still has to prove he is capable of delivering on a stage like Wrestlemania. At the same time, Cena has never had a better opportunity to etch his name on the list of all-time iconic 'Mania performers than he will Sunday in both his match with Miz and the subsequent altercation with The Rock. This is as much Cena's show as it is Rock's and he will have to prove that to both his followers and his doubters.

Prediction

THE MIZ will beat John Cena at Wrestlemania and hold onto the WWE Championship before losing it at Extreme Rules. Miz will not win cleanly and it will be The Rock that costs Cena the match. The real main event will be the post match showdown between Rock and Cena, where I believe Cena gets his heat back to send the fans home happy. At any rate, I expect that Wrestlemania XXVII will continue where Wrestlemania XXVI left off with the main event being the best match on the show.
