WWE WrestleMania 27: 10 Reasons Why There Should Be a Real WWE HoF in Stamford

Jon SainzJun 6, 2018

Oneonta, New York; Toronto, Ontario, Canada; Canton, Ohio; South Bend, Indiana; Springfield, Massachusetts; Cleveland, Ohio and Cooperstown, New York.

What do all this places have in common? A Hall of Fame.

While cities like Cleveland or Toronto are important on their own, would anybody know where Canton, Ohio is if the Pro Football Hall of Fame was somewhere else? I doubt it.

Here are 10 reasons why the WWE should have a Hall of Fame and add a city to that list: Stamford, Connecticut.

10) A HoF Building Would Make the Honor More Exclusive

1 of 10

Can anybody tell me who the hell the guy in the picture is? It's an American comedian named Drew Carey, whose full wrestling experience consists of one Royal Rumble entry. So, why in the world are they inducting him into the WWE Hall of Fame? Same deal goes for Pete Rose. The WWE is based in the U.S., but it's a worldwide promotion.

People who watch the WWE worldwide know who the wrestlers are, but they may not know Pete Rose or Drew Carey since they're mainly known in their country and not in the whole world.

If the WWE was to have a real, physical building as its Hall of Fame, they would want to be more careful when they select the inductees, only giving HoF honors to wrestlers who excel, and not to celebrities.

9) Other Sports Have Them

Baseball, hockey, basketball, pro football, college football and even soccer have Halls of Fame in North America. So why shouldn't the WWE have one too?

OK, wrestling's not a sport, it's fake, yadda, yadda, yadda. So make it a entertainment Hall of Fame. Rock and roll has one and there's also the Walk of Fame in Los Angeles, which leads me to my point, there is no reason not to have one.

8) It Makes It Real

3 of 10

As of right now, there are only three ways to know who's in the WWE HoF: You have an awesome memory, the guy is wearing the ring the WWE gives to the inductees or you go tho the WWE webpage.

A HoF building would make it easier to know who the guys that have been inducted are.

7) We Will Remember the Inductees Better

4 of 10

If you know who the guy in the picture is, congratulations, you either have one hell of a memory or are way up in age.

For those of you who don't have such a great memory or are way down in age, it's WWE Hall of Famer Antonino Rocca, class of 1995.

If we had a physical HoF, guys like this could be remembered.

6) WWE Could Make a Profit

5 of 10

What does the WWE love? Money.

Having a HoF would allow the WWE to have new sources of income that would generate profit after the construction costs are covered following a relatively short period of time.

5) It Would Be a Place for Wrestling Fans To Visit

6 of 10

As of right now, if you are a WWE fan and want to go somewhere important relative to the WWE, you have two options:

1) Attend a show. Not a bad experience, but since it is in a different city every day, it is not exactly easy to plan a trip there.

2) Visit WWE headquarters. This one doesn't move, but it's just an office building, so not exactly what you would call an exciting trip.

A HoF would allow for an exciting and easy-to-plan trip for the whole family.

4) Wrestling Museum

7 of 10

Most Halls of Fame also serve as museums, and it would be a good place to have some great matches on tape for anyone who wants to see.

Every time WWE acquires a company (ECW, WCW, etc.), the company mainly buys its trademarks and video libraries. This means that the WWE has countless hours of wrestling in its own video library, so it could put at least a portion of it (say videos featuring inductees' matches) available to the general public.

3) Inductions Would Be More Meaningful

8 of 10

Since the inductees would be easily remembered and more carefully chosen, only people who really deserve to be in the Hall of Fame would be inducted.

People who changed the wrestling industry or had a great impact on it would be inducted, and those who had little impact would be left out or inducted way later than their greater contemporaries.

2) More People Would Accept HoF Honor

9 of 10

Every year the WWE has the same problem: Some guys that the WWE wants to be in that year's HoF class turn the honor down.

If the WWE had a real Hall of Fame, more people would accept it, since being inducted would mean being forever remembered as one of wrestling's greats.

1) Fans Want It

10 of 10

Following the long-standing law of "the customer is always right," the WWE fans (or WWE Universe or whatever) want a HoF, so why not give us what we want?
