Yoosof Farah's Top Five EPL Players: Matchday Six
Here are my top five players from match day six in the Barclay's Premier League:
5) Ashley Young - Aston Villa
It's a shame he's the only English player on the list. Ashley Young was again outstanding for Aston Villa against Sunderland. The England midfielder was a constant threat down the left, putting in several dangerous crosses as well as having some good shots himself. He also scored the equalizer for Villa with a fantastic free kick from 25-yards out. Young was just as deserving of the match winner despite another fantastic performance from teammate John Carew.
4) Geovanni - Hull City
Well I just had to include this man in the list. The little Brazilian was outstanding against Arsenal, and scored a good contender for goal of the season. A brilliant shot from 35-yards out that dipped and swerved its way past the helpless Almunia and into the top corner.
It was not just his goal that was great; the Brazilian's all-round play was superb. The passing, the crosses, the movement, the dribbling, and of course, that bit of Brazilian flair that really makes Hull City look like a top flight team.
On a day when there were several outstanding Hull City players, Geovanni was head and shoulders above the rest and fully deserved his man of the match awards, despite the brilliant efforts of Boaz Myhill and Daniel Cousin.
3) Jose Bosingwa - Chelsea
A brilliant performance from the flying Portuguese fullback, No doubt his best performance yet in a Chelsea shirt. There’s also no doubt his best is still to come.
Bosingwa opened his Chelsea goal scoring account in style. After cushioning Lampard's pass on his chest, the full-back hit a superb finish past Stoke keeper Thomas Sorensen, as the ball was buried in the corner via Andy Griffin on the line.
After showing that he does like to go forward, that's what he did for the rest of the game, and was involved in a lot of Chelsea's attacks. He also proved his worth in defense with some great tackles. A great game for Bosingwa who was a deserving man of the match win.
2) Fernando Torres - Liverpool
Some people may disagree with me on this one, and especially that I ranked him so highly, but for me, Fernando Torres was fantastic in the Merseyside derby against Everton.
The prolific Spaniard ended his goal drought by scoring two well-taken goals in the space of just three minutes to secure three points and the bragging rights in Liverpool.
But it was not just his goals that secured 'El Niño' a deserved man of the match award. Torres was involved in several Liverpool attacks and had a few more good chances himself, and was slightly unlucky not to get a hat trick.
1) Amr Zaki - Wigan Athletic
The big question with this fantastic Egyptian forward is: how long will Wigan honestly be able to keep hold of this man?
Yet again Amr Zaki added to his ever-growing reputation with a fantastic performance, and scored his sixth goal in eight games with a coolly slotted penalty past City's Joe Hart, whom Zaki did well to ignore abuse from.
I'm sure no one will disagree that he was a deserved man of the match winner. His skill, his ability to take the ball round defenders effortlessly, his determination, and his 'never-say-die' attitude were just some of the reasons why again he has drawn such widespread applause.
After being signed on loan from the largely unknown Egyptian club El Zamalek, Zaki has added considerably to the exotic flair in Wigan with such fantastic performances and spectacular goals.
