That means in the span of a minute, Paea lifted 11,025 pounds.
Wow.
It's pretty incredible how easy the first 43 reps were. No hesitation whatsoever as Paea made it look way too easy.
After 43 reps, he began to slow down a bit. He got in two more before taking an extra long breath.
At 45 reps, with all of his peers watching him and a spotter breathing down his face, Paea was able to put up another four reps for a total of 49.
It's an incredible feat that breaks the combine record of 45 set by Mitch Petrus last year. As the NFL network cut back to Rich Eisen, he could only laugh at the ridiculous strength on display.
Before Monday, Paea's stock had been steadily falling at the Combine. Now he is back in the mix for being selected in the first round. His incredible performance will be the first thing mentioned among scouts from here until draft day.
Would you like to have your favorite NFL team draft the strongest D-lineman since the Combine was created?
In a game based off brute strength and physicality, drafting Paea would be fine with me.
Sure, NFL scouts care about a heck of a lot more than how much a guy can bench.
But Paea was the player of the day at Monday's combine in Indy.
