Fantasy Football Week Three Rankings: Tight Ends
A total of seven tight ends amassed double digit fantasy points in week one of the season, that number was cut in more than half come week 2 as only three tight ends reached the double digit mark. But, that's the rub of the tight end position. Much like a roller coaster, these guys will have their ups and their downs, and it's up to you to figure out when each will occur. Luckily for you though, we are here, and just like that good buddy of yours who let you copy his homework all throughout middle school, we'll let you cheat off our week 3 paper.
So, make sure you get an "A" by reading the Fantasy Football Week 3 Tight End Rankings!

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Heading into the season, there were concerns about Gates' health, specifically his surgically repaired toe; however, while in Week Two, Gates was on the field, once again catching four balls for 61 yards.
Gates has now made it through two games without any problems from the toe and appears ready to fight for the top TE spot. A matchup against a Jets defense that gave up double-digit fantasy points to both TE David Martin and TE Anthony Fasano in Week One should help the cause.
Point Projection: 14 points

2. Jason Witten (Dallas Cowboys) @ Green Bay
While Witten has yet to find paydirt in 2008, he's racked up enough yardage to keep his fantasy owners happy, totaling 206 receiving yards in the Cowboys' first two games.
The Cowboys seem to be operating on all cylinders right now on the offensive side of the ball, something made evident by the 41 points they put up on the Eagles this past Monday Night.
Look for Romo and Witten to hook up a good deal in their Sunday Night matchup against the Green Bay Packers' 22nd-ranked defense.
Point Projection: 13 points

3. Chris Cooley (Washington Redskins) vs. Arizona
Perhaps all the Redskins needed was some good home cooking to get their passing game on track. While they couldn't get anything going through the air in their Week One road contest against the New York Giants, they were much improved in their Week Two home game against the New Orleans Saints, with Jason Campbell throwing for 321 yards and a score.
Cooley was part of 72 of those yards, and with another home game scheduled for Week Three against the Arizona Cardinals, he should put up more solid numbers.
Point Projection: 11 points
--------------------
4. Jeremy Shockey (New Orleans Saints) @ Denver
Shockey hasn't quite had the impact many envisioned he would have in New Orleans, especially in Week Two, when he caught just two passes for 22 yards, despite Marques Colston's absence.
Shockey should be able to live up to the hype in Week Three, as the Saints get set to face a Denver Broncos team that ranks 29th against the pass.
Point Projection: 11 points
--------------------
5. Tony Gonzalez (Kansas City Chiefs) @ Atlanta
In spite of how poorly the Chiefs did when on the offensive side of the ball in their Week Two matchup with the Oakland Raiders, Gonzo was still able to manage a respectable nine fantasy points.
Whether it's Damon Huard or Tyler Thigpen under center for the Chiefs battle with the Atlanta Falcons, it would be wise for the quarterback to use their best weapon often.
Point Projection: 10 points
--------------------
6. Todd Heap (Baltimore Ravens) vs. Cleveland
Heap disappointed in 2007, and his 2008 didn't get off to the best start, as he finished Week One with negative two points in standard scoring leagues. Hurricane Ike prompted the Ravens to have their bye week in Week Two, so hopefully, Heap was able to take the off-time and get himself righted.
If so, he should be in store for a big night against the Cleveland Browns, who are giving up 242 yards a game.
Point Projection: 9 points
--------------------
7. Tony Scheffler (Denver Broncos) vs. New Orleans
Yes, Brandon Marshall had 18 receptions in his return last Sunday, but that doesn't mean there still weren't enough balls for Scheffler, who topped all tight ends in Week Two with 18 fantasy points, as Cutler targeted him a total of 10 times. The Broncos, who are known best in fantasy circles for their runners, have shifted philosophies with Cutler under center and are a pass-first team.
That bodes well for Scheffler, who gets to go against a Saints defense giving up an average of 256 passing yards.
Point Projection: 9 points
--------------------
8. John Carlson (Seattle Seahawks) vs. St. Louis
QB Matt Hasselbeck has to be thrilled the Seahawks drafted Carlson this past offseason. Without the Notre Dame grad, Hasselbeck would literally have no one to throw to, with all the injuries the Seahawks have endured. Look for the crisp route-runner to have a field day against a Rams defense that ranks dead last against the pass.
Point Projection: 8 points
