Earlier today, the organization held its UFC 126 pre-fight media call and Franklin spoke about the matchup that is ahead of him next Saturday.

On motivation when it comes to fighting, he said that he is a competitor and finds motivation from whoever he competes against and beats inside of the world famous Octagon.

The last opponent Franklin defeated was Chuck “The Iceman” Liddell at UFC 115 last June and while he won via first round knockout, the light heavyweight contender also suffered a broken arm but according to “Ace”, he is lucky because it did not require surgery and is now fully healed.

With both competitors fully healed and prepared for their fight, Griffin believes that he and Rich have all the ingredients to put on an exciting fight.

“If you look at the way Rich fights and the way I fight, then all the ingredients are there (for an exciting fight).”

Coming into UFC 126, Griffin has been out of action since his decision win over Tito Ortiz in November of 2009 and according to the former light heavyweight title holder, he would much rather stay active.

“This is the most ring rust I’ve ever had and I’m definitely not excited about it.”
