LeBron James: 10 Reasons His New Cartoon Will Only Hurt His Image
The LeBron James “Look at me” tour has struck again.
He has already made stops on the tour with “The Decision”, tweets about the Cavs and karma, briefly posted articles about Vegas escapades and a dance party to kick off the new season with his partners in crime D-Wade and Chris Bosh.
But the next stop is even worse.
The New York Daily News is reporting that James will be featured in his very own cartoon. Spring Hill Productions and Believe Entertainment Group have announced the creation of a new Web-based animated series featuring the characters of “The LeBrons”, which was a series of Nike commercials from a few years ago.
The title of the show is called “The LeBrons” and it will feature four different characters that, believe it or not, are all different forms of LeBron.
In a statement, James says the show "is a great way to show youths of all ages how to be a good person."
Here are 10 reasons why “The LeBrons” will provide even more ammunition for the haters.
10. LeBron Shows His Greediness Off in Cartoon Form
1 of 10
One of the characters is the “business” version of LeBron. Kids will watch in horror as he pisses off entire cities and the majority of one nation in a single bound.
Witness LeBron allow his idiot friend Maverick Carter mange is career down the toilet through incredibly stupid and greedy tactics.
Hope you take notes children!
9. LeBron Angers Spongebob Fans
2 of 10
After LeBron decided to take his talents to bikini bottom, he screws up the chemistry of Spongebob and Patrick on their show.
The show doesn’t recover and he ruins one of the most successful cartoons in modern history of children's television.
8. James Finds New Ways to Anger Cleveland
3 of 10
The show is going to be located in Akron and I’m sure some subliminal shots at Cleveland will be in order.
The only question is how.
Will they speak of the horribly evil city located down the highway?
Does LeBron talk about the “dark ages” of his life where we was stuck in a soul-sucking city that was the worst part of his career?
Or maybe LeBron talks about his unabated love and support for his hometown, and intentionally leaves out any sort of mention about Cleveland.
No. 3 is a guarantee.
7. Show Abruptly finishes before end of last episode
4 of 10
Much like the real life form of James in the playoffs, right as the show gets exciting and the pressure of a good ending arrive, the show falls flat on it’s face and leaves a lot to be desired.
6. Old Man LeBron Disappoints
5 of 10
One of the four characters is an old man version of LeBron. There are plenty of jokes to be made about this one in cartoon form, but odds are it’s going to come off as corny.
Will the old LeBron be able to knock some sense into the young one?
Or will the 16-year old version just tell him to shut-up and get out of his way?
I have a feeling that respecting your elders will not be a major theme of the show.
5. Misinterprets What Phrase “Socially Conscious” Means
6 of 10
The show plans to show socially conscious messages to help kids stay in school. But after endless highlights of a 16 year-old LeBron jamming dunks down the throats of smaller opponents, kids receive message that school doesn’t matter as long as you can dunk a basketball.
4. The 16 Year-Old LeBron More Mature Than Present Day Version
7 of 10
There once was a time when LeBron seemed very mature. In high school he said all the right things and never did anything to jeopardize his pro career. Nobody batted an eyelash when it came to LeBron comments.
Now the media psycho-analyzes every word uttered from his mouth after the past years transgressions and years of pampering.
How funny would it be to see the little LeBron show the big boy LeBron how to act?
3. Show Kids Why You Shouldn’t Stick With Your Family
8 of 10
As hoards of people that worship LeBron watch, James tells his family he needs to move way and never speak of them again.
He then proceeds to take subliminal shots at them as he makes them incredibly irrelevant.
Family values among kids plummet as they follow their un-loyal cartoon leader.
2. D-Wade Sends Wrong Message During His Cameo
9 of 10
LeBron intends to show the value of teamwork by bringing his super-star teammate on the show. But when they show numerous shots of Wade angrily standing in the corner while LeBron goes 1-on-5, it reinforces the value of being a ball hog to kids across the country.
The "I gets mine" generation only gets worse and the NBA eventually turns into a 1-on1 league.

How do you expect a cartoon about a egotistical basketball player that has no sense of reality to play out?
Odds are the show will come off as self-serving and forgettable—just another attempt to tell the country "look at me".
The media will make plenty of jokes at the expense of James and it will be the latest awful decision in the almost comedic resume of Maverick Carter.
Sorry kids, LeBron is not your role model.
