WWE RAW: CM Punk Returns As the Top Heel in All of WWE
CM Punk has just returned from an injury and is the top villain in the WWE. His move from the broadcast booth back into the ring was necessary although he's a very good announcer. The WWE needs his in-ring talent more than his announcing.
Now Punk's able to combine both his excellent ring and microphone skills into the total heel. He's drawn more heat than anyone in wrestling as of late and even got into a fight with a fan over the weekend at a WWE Live Event.
Punk may be in line to win this month's Royal Rumble and head into WrestleMania as the No. 1 contender. The 40-man match will be more difficult to win than ever before. A superstar of Punk's caliber is capable of winning such a match though.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
Even if that doesn't happen, though, it appears that his rivalry with John Cena will be very entertaining. They will likely square off at the Rumble and possibly again at WrestleMania with more at stake.
As the current leader of the RAW Nexus, Punk has been ruthless. He's become the group's "messiah" and has all of the members believing in him. To be honest, how couldn't they? CM Punk is one of the very best competitors in all of WWE.
CM Punk has all of the gifts to help carry the company as the top heel. At the moment he's the ideal antithesis of Cena and their rivalry has the potential to be special.
Punk is hilarious on the mic and is very easy to hate for many members of the WWE universe. He basically forced Wade Barrett out of the Nexus, his own group, and has since turned it into an entirely new entity.
With Michael McGillicutty, Husky Harris, David Otunga, Mason Ryan and Punk, the Nexus may be at its strongest point. They lost their initial leader (Barrett), but have since acquired a new, perhaps more dedicated one in Punk.
The Nexus is now under new management and it may help catapult the younger guys to the top. There's a lot of potential within the group and they will all benefit from this incredibly strong faction's existence. Punk, however, may benefit most by riding this wave to another title. For now, though, he's earned the title of top heel in the company.
Punk's heinous antics as of late on RAW mean a lot more than they appear on the surface. They further prove why he's dynamic and is the top heel in the business today. With such acts as whipping Husky Harris and teasing his dive off the titantron, he may have helped move the WWE in a new direction.
The question being: did he again move the WWE from the PG-era into a more "adult" form? Only time will tell, but as for now, Punk is in a class of his own as a bad guy.
