Miami Dolphins: Reasons Why the Fins Cannot Get Coaching Talent
This is not a personal attack on Brian Daboll. I am sure he is a great guy, but the Miami Dolphins hiring him as offensive coordinator is a huge mistake.
Obviously, his 29th ranked offense in Cleveland last year does not make any Dolphins fan go crazy about this hire.
His style is very, very similar to what Dan Henning was running with the Dolphins this past season.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Some argue that he did good work with developing Colt McCoy. I am not sure how you can say that after just one season and that one season was not exactly great. Chad Henne's first handful of starts were fairly decent too and we all have seen where he went from there.
For those who have read my last article, you know I was all about Tom Clements (Green Bay's QB coach) for the next Miami Dolphins offensive coordinator.
Owner Stephen Ross sent a letter to season ticket holders that the offense was going to change and be more aggressive and exciting. How is hiring a guy who ran the 29th ranked offense accomplishing that?
Why not try to get the guy (Tom Clements) who has personally developed one of the best QBs in the game right now (Aaron Rodgers)?
That sounds like an exciting hire to me. That is a hire that the fan base could look at and want to go get/renew season tickets.
So, why did the Dolphins have to settle on Daboll?
The decision to keep Jeff Ireland and Tony Sparano around is the reason the Dolphins were not able to get an exciting offensive coordinator.
What good offensive coordinator would want to work for these two?
Jeff Ireland scared off Pittsburgh Steelers S Ryan Clark from signing in Miami. He asked if Dez Bryant's mom was a prostitute.
Sparano loves field goals more than any coach in the history of the NFL. What offensive coordinator wants to call plays to play for field goals? None of the good coordinators do.
Hiring Daboll is a mistake, but the bigger mistake was keeping Ireland and Sparano around.
Ireland and Sparano have handcuffed this franchise and will continue to do so until they are fired.
