Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao Dream Fight Preview
This fight could have happened long ago if Floyd Mayweather Jr. had not rejected his own offer to reigning pound-for-pound king Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao of a 14-day drug testing cut-off window, walk away from the negotiation and announced that he is taking a couple of years off from boxing.
Round One
Styles makes fights they say and Mayweather, a known defensive artist, with a style all his own—the dance. He is expected to do the dance for the whole fight.
Referee signals the beginning of the fight and the two fighters walk into the center of the ring with Mayweather faking a punch that sent Manny on the defensive, taking half a step back and leaning backward to avoid the fake blow, and to the crowds delight chanting MAYWEATHER, MAYWEATHER!
Pacquiao geared up for an attack bobbing and weaving his head and body left and right and moving forward and extended his left arm, an incomplete jab that made Floyd take three steps back, the signature dance.
When they were finally within reach Manny threw a five-punch combination to which Floyd employed his shoulder roll and threw a right cross to avoid getting overwhelmed by Manny’s flurry but Manny is already two paces away on Floyd’s right!!! The coliseum went booming with the chants of MANNY, MANNY and MAYWEATHER, MAYWEATHER!!!
Round one went to Mayweather for his effective shoulder roll and perfect execution of the dance.
Round Two
The bell sounds, it’s round two! It’s clearly on Mayweather’s favor. Floyd is doing somewhat what he did to the lumbering Baldomir. Executing his dance perfectly and landing more than a few punches on Manny that sent Floyd fans shouting like crazy for their idol.
Floyd put in a couple of punches for a score then backpedaled out of harms way. When the two engage, Floyd tries to grab and hug Manny just like he did to Hatton “The Brawler” and to a lot of his other fights but Manny is just too fast and won’t let himself get tangled like the rest.
Floyd really make it seem like Manny is one dimensional, just what the Mayweathers have been saying all along and landed more punches on Manny! But through all those punches that Floyd landed on Manny one thing was clear, Manny can take Floyd’s punch and there is just no way can Mayweather knock him out!
Round Three
The fighters again try to meet in the center of the ring and Mayweather walked to his right a couple of steps, pedaled back then threw a jab but this is what Manny and Coach Freddie has been waiting for and this is what coach Freddie, Manny Pacquiao’s trainer has been spending a lot of sleepless nights on, looking for Floyd’s flaw and finally there it was, perfect, just as Manny and Coach Freddie had practiced.
Manny closed his eyes and threw a right cross smack into Mayweather’s chin and boom Floyd’s knees buckled, worst than what he got from Mosley and Judah and he grabbed and hugged Manny to hold on to dear life..
Round four through seven (Usual exchange of blows with no major damages)
Another thing was exposed here, there is just no way the whole 12 rounds can go without Manny landing one on Floyd and Floyd realized that Manny can get him every time he tries to throw a punch.
And what was very evident is that he is not fighting a bloated Marquez or the no chance to win Dela Hoya but boxing’s reigning number one pound for pound king. It’s like a wake up call for Mayweather fighting an entirely different opponent cut high above the rest.
This is the same guy who put down Cotto and Margarito, guys he haven’t fought.
It’s just a matter of time before Manny racks up this win as what he usually does.
Round Eight
Floyd can’t throw a punch without getting two or three in return and Manny’s style made Mayweather do a Dela Hoya and a Clottey!
Mayweather’s corner finally decided to throw in the towel in surrender considering, finally, that Floyd’s health is more important than pride.
Manny Pacquiao’s speed, stamina, power, variety and flurry of punches and footwork are just too much for Mayweather.
Styles make fights I guess!
