Strikeforce Challengers 13: Tarec Saffiedine Vs. Tyron Woodley
Welterweights Tarec Saffiedine (10-2) and Tyron Woodley (7-0) will face one another in the main event of Strikeforce Challengers 13 which will take place on Friday night from the Nashville Municipal Auditorium in Nashville TN.
Both gentlemen bring alot of momentum into this fight with Saffiedine having won his last three fights and most recently defeating UFC veteran Brock Larson, by Unanimous Decision last September.
Woodley has yet to taste defeat in his Mixed Martial Arts career and is 5-0 in Strikeforce with a dominant knockout win over submission ace Andre Galvao, last October at Strikeforce: Noons vs. Diaz II.
The co-main event features a heavyweight contest pitting wrestling standout Daniel Cormier (6-0) versus the heavy handed Devin Cole (18-8-1).
Cormier trains out of the famed American Kickboxing Academy and has only allowed one of his six opponents out the first round. The AKA trained heavyweight will bring Olympic caliber wrestling skills into this fight with Cole as he has previously been a member of the United States Olympic wrestling team.
Cole is the owner of ten (T)KO victories and is 5-1 in his last six fight with four of those victories coming by way of knockout and technical knockout.
The aforementioned Cormier is the rising star in Strikeforce's heavyweight division and most likely enters this fight on Friday night a heavy favorite.
In addition to above matchups, former University of Tennessee football player turner Mixed Martial Artist Ovince St. Preux (9-4), will look to extend his six-fight win streak when he faces Ron Humphrey (7-2) in light heavyweight action.
Rounding out the main card will be Julia Budd (1-0) versus Amanda Nunes (5-1) and Ion Cherdivara (1-0) mixing it up with Judo ace Rhadi Ferguson (2-0).
