Monday Night Fights: Philadelphia Eagles vs. Dallas Cowboys

Steve EarnhardtSep 10, 2008

The Eagles thrashed the St. Louis Rams 38-3 in what looked to be a resurgence of quarterback Donovan McNabb.  McNabb threw for 361 yards and 3 touchdowns, where he was 21 for 33 passing.   Notably, he accomplished these impressive stats by spreading the ball around to 7 different receivers.

Finally, Donovan appears to be 100% healthy for the first time in a long while.  He had a brutal start to the past season and he did not resemble himself until the last few games the Eagles played.

"He's worked so hard to get himself back to this point," coach Andy Reid said. "For once, he didn't have to rehab in the off-season. He showed this the last three games last year and he picked up where he left off."

The Cowboys had almost as easy a time with the Cleveland Browns as the Eagles had with the Rams.  Dallas defeated the Browns 28-10, however, it really was never all that close.  In fact, the Cowboys were able to do almost anything they pleased.

Tony Romo threw for 320 yards, while the combo of Marion Barber and Felix Jones rushed for 142 yards.  It seemed like Romo had all day long to throw during four excessively long touchdown drives.  Both Terrell Owens and Jason Witten had stellar days by going racking up 87 and 96 yards respectively.

It would not be too much to say that you can expect to see some fireworks when these two offenses meet next Monday night on ESPN.  The stars are definitely ready to go, as it appears there are no significant injuries to either side (still waiting to hear on Marion Barber’s ribs).

So it begs the question, are you ready for another NFC East masterpiece?  Well, like T.O. says, "Better get yerr popcorn ready."
