NFL Power Rankings: Week One
Week one of the NFL season has come and passed. Here are my initial thoughts on the top 32 teams as it stands after one week of observations.
1. Philadelphia Eagles- Philly showed that with Donovan McNabb they are as dominant as any team in the NFL. Granted, they won't be able to play the Rams each week...
2. Denver Broncos- After the Broncos' performance on Monday night, they left little doubt as to who they feel is the top team in the AFC.

3. Dallas Cowboys- The Cowboys have the best offensive line in the NFC, bar none. They made the Browns look silly.
4. Pittsburgh Steelers- The Steelers are very consistent year in and year out. Let's hope the injury to Roethlisberger is what they say it is: Minor.
5. New York Giants- Defending Super Bowl champs did not disappoint week one.
6. Buffalo Bills- Long has the Bills defense and special teams been underrated. A convincing win on Sunday altered that.
7. San Diego Chargers- The injury to star OLB Shawne Merriman will hurt the Chargers, but they still have LT.
8. New Orleans Saints- The Saints have a lot of weapons on offense, but Brees' favorite target (Marques Colston) is out 4-6 weeks with a finger injury.
9. Green Bay Packers- Say what you will about Aaron Rodgers, but he is outplaying any other 2005 first round QB (Alex Smith) and has the Packers at 1-0.
10. Indianapolis Colts- Injuries to Joseph Addai, Jeff Saturday, and Dallas Clark have greatly affected the Colt offense.
11. New England Patriots- With the emergence of the Jets and Bills, the Pats are no longer the favorites to win the division with Matt Cassel as the starting QB.
12. Chicago Bears- Let's put it this way: When the Chicago D is healthy, they are a scary team. Matt Forte for NFC Rookie of the Year.
13. New York Jets- Brett Favre was impressive in his debut, but you don't play Miami week to week.
14. Tennessee Titans- The Titans beat a very good Jaguars team. Vince Young seems to have some physical and mental issues which could cost the Titans their season.
15. Jacksonville Jaguars- The Jags lost game one, but they are far from done this season.
16. Carolina Panthers- Carolina upset the Chargers without their best offensive player. Scared yet?
17. Tampa Bay Buccanneers- Bucs need to rebound after devastating loss to the Saints.
18. Minnesota Vikings- Tarvaris Jackson could ruin this teams chances at the playoffs unless he starts making better decisions.
19. Cleveland Browns- Browns need a resurgence from their offense next week, or they could be in trouble.
20. Seattle Seahawks- Seattle always seems to stick around that playoff race.
21. Arizona Cardinals- Kurt Warner has great numbers as the Cardinals starter. If he stays healthy, they could vie for the division title.
22. Washington Redskins- Too good of a division to compete in 2008, but will provide tough competition all season long.
23. Houston Texans- Great defensive line should single handedly win this team some games, but Matt Schaub has been a bust thus far. Paging Sage Rosenfels.
24. Baltimore Ravens- Joe Flacco looked good in the opener, but this team has a lot of holes on the offense still yet.
25. Atlanta Falcons- Matt Ryan managed the game very well and the trend predicts the Falcons to emerge as division victors.
26. Oakland Raiders- The Raiders have some talent, but losing by 27 points does not bode well for their accused "much improved defense".
27. Cincinnatti Bengals- The Bengals are in trouble. Too many players on their team are more concerned with money than winning.
28. Miami Dolphins- The Dolphins are well on their way to at least doubling last years win total...
29. San Francisco 49ers- Alex Smith out for the year means another revolving door at QB and possibly the last season for Mike Nolan as head coach.
30. Kansas City Chiefs- The Chiefs removed Tom Brady from the game: and still lost.
31. Detroit Lions- The only good thing that came from the Lions game was the production of Calvin Johnson and Roy Williams.
32. St. Louis Rams- Looks like it will be another long year for Scott Linehan and the Rams.
