The earliest reports are suggesting that WWE had no plans for him and that the release was inevitable.
Several current and former WWE superstars commented on the release.
John Cena and JR said that this was a surprise for them and that they have no idea what happened.
Former WWE superstars, MVP and Shelton Benjamin, thought that it was better for him to leave, while Gregory Helms was shocked after hearing the news and wrote, "You gotta be f***ing kidding."
The most interesting comment, however, came from TNA's broadcaster and interviewer, Jeremy Borash, who took a shot at WWE and said, "Very grateful to be working for a company that gives out bonus checks at Christmas instead of walking papers."
Kaval, now using the name Low-Ki, tweeted, "Regardless of the current situation, I only move forward. I will keep you posted. Kaval is no more. The return of the World Warrior has begun."
Thoughts
Well, numerous mind-boggling questions come to my mind when reading the silly reason suggested by WWE.
Why hire him in in the first place if you had no plans for him? Why make him NXT 2 winner if you had no plans for him? Why was he jobbing all these weeks if you had no plans for him? Why ruin his career if you had no plans for him? Does this mean that you have plans for all the other superstars?
Unfortunately, while many people were criticizing WWE for the way Kaval was booked, I was one of the few people who stupidly thought that they were building his character and that he was going to shine soon.
I thought that he was booked as the overconfident underdog who's trying his best to make a name for himself among the bigger superstars.
However, I don't think that the creative team has people who are smart enough to think about it this way. After all these weeks, they decided to flush the whole NXT 2 down the toilet and release its winner.
Whether you like him or not, no one can deny that Kaval was a great performer who showed magnificent in-ring skills and had great matches. Had he been given more time and better feuds, he would have definitely made a name for himself. His match against Dolph Ziggler at Survivor Series was one of the best matches in this pay-per-view.
WWE lost a great talent with this release. I'm sure that a World Title shot seemed far away from him, but still, he could have been a good addition to the mid-card section. It's a shame to see such a talent wasted in favor of other less talented and less important superstars.
Let's wish Low-Ki a better future, where he can find the promotion that can fully utilize his skills.
That's it for now, folks. All thoughts and comment are welcome.
