With Week One Over, Eagles Look to Dallas
The Eagles opened the 2008 season with a dominating 38-3 victory over the St.Louis Rams. The Eagles offense was unstoppable as they marched up and down the field on the Rams defense all day long.
The defense shut down Steven Jackson and company, holding the Rams offense to only 166 total yards and kept them out of the end zone holding St. Louis to three points.
Meanwhile, Dallas got their 2008 campaign with an equally dominant 28-10 win in Cleveland over the Browns. Tony Romo went completed 24 of 32 passes for 320 yards and one touchdown along with one interception.

Romo hit seven different receivers on the day, Jason Witten being his most prolific target on the day with six catches for 96 yards. Romo and Terrell Owens hooked up for a 35-yard scoring strike in the 2nd quarter as Owens caught five balls for 87 yards.
Dallas was equally effective on the ground as the 'Boys ran for 167 yards on the day. Marion Barber ran 16 times for 80 yards and two touchdowns, but left the game late in the third quarter with badly bruised ribs. Rookie Felix Jones filled in nicely rushing nine times for 62 yards highlighted by an 11-yard touchdown burst.
The Dallas defense dominated the high powered Brown offense, holding them to 205 total yards and 10 points.
Derek Anderson got off to a hot start early in the game going 8 of 11 for 79 yards and a touchdown, but finished 3 of 13 for 35 yards, drawing boos from the Cleveland faithful. Cleveland was effective on the ground with Jamal Lewis but was forced to pass due to their 21 point deficit.
The Eagles will enter Texas stadium for the final time next Monday. Both teams looked great on both sides of the ball to start the season which makes this early season match up even more intriguing.
The Eagles dominated on offense even though they were without their top two wide receivers. Dallas made what looked to be a tough battle look easy as they ripped the Browns. The Eagles and Cowboys will be facing many questions as their prime time showdown draws closer.
The Eagles defense will have the tough task of trying to keep the potent Dallas offense in check and here are some of the questions they face.
Can the Eagles defense keep Marion Barber and Felix Jones under wraps the way they did with Steven Jackson?
Can Samuel, Brown and Sheppard shut down the Cowboys potent passing offense?
Can the defensive line pressure Tony Romo into mistakes the way they did in week 15 of 2007?
Can the young Linebackers continue to improve and play the way they did in week 1?
Those questions will be answered in a matter of time.
Here are some of the questions the Eagles offense faces going into their Monday night showdown: Can Donovan Mcnabb's receivers perform well enough to win without Kevin Curtis?
Can the offensive line protect McNabb after allowing 7 sacks in two games against Dallas in 2007?
Can Brian Westbrook continue his performance as a runner as well as a pass catcher?
We will see shortly as the Eagles face the tough Dallas defense next week. Dallas on the other hand will have it's fair share of tough questions to answer heading into Week Two.
Dallas' offense will be facing an Eagles defense with a lot to prove as they move towards Week Two: Can Tony Romo avoid the mistakes that have been costly in the past against the Eagles?
Can the Dallas ground game still be effective if Marion Barbers ribs are too banged up for him to go?
Can The Dallas offensive line handle the Eagles pass rush and protect Tony Romo?
The Dallas defense will be facing an Eagles offense that produced 522 yards of total offense in Week One: Can they put pressure on Donovan McNabb forcing him to make plays with his feet?
Can Dallas' secondary keep Desean jackson and Brian Westbrook under wraps forcing Mcnabb to find other targets?
Can the Dallas front seven stop the Eagles ground game making them one-dimensional?
While this is only Week Two, this is a very important NFC East showdown and the winner of this game may prove to be the class of the division.
