Denmark's Nicklas Bendtner Promises Better Performance Against Portugal
Nicklas Bendtner expects a better effort from his international colleagues when they take on Portugal on Wednesday. Disappointed after the sluggish 0-0 draw with Hungary on a wet night in Budapest, Bendtner shows his frustration in the post-match conference.
Bendtner looked like someone who was trying dodge the post-match press conference, and seemed like he didn't want to be there.
The Arsenal forward left the Danish journalists puzzled when he all of sudden started sending and receiving text messages, but there was no way they would let him off so easily without explaining Denmark's inability to break an average-but-stubborn Hungary side.

When he did start talking, however, he could not hide his disappointment in the weak performance.
"I don't think we gave our maximum tonight", he said.
"I sincerely apologise to the Danish public and the travelling fans for having to witness such a horror show", he carried on.
"Before the break, we had a very good last 20 minutes in the first half, where passed very well and had them chasing the ball. Second half we had no success and we are really disappointed with the result."
Bendtner, who saw an effort come off the post late in the game, admitted he thought he had won the game for his country.
"I started celebrating, when to my disappointment, I realised the ball hadn't gone in," the forward said.
Having put tonight's performance behind him, Bendtner is already looking forward to Wednesday clash with favourites Portugal.
"It will be a totally different kind of game and we are ready for them. Portugal will be favourites but they have a totally different style compared to Hungary. They won't be as aggressive as them and that could suit us better" Bendtner said.
Danish coach, Morten Olsen also showed some dissatisfaction in the performance and singled out Aston Villa's Martin Laursen.
"Martin Laursen had a torrid night and he didn't step up to the pressure. I am really disappointed in him," Olsen said.
Martin Laursen however, immediately hit back at his national coach:
"I don't feel there is any more I could have done. They (Hungary) had very few chances and had limited possession in our half of the pitch. What more does the coach expect of me?"
"It was a disappointing night for everybody involved but we are already looking forward to playing Portugal and we are confident of putting up a good show"
