WWE Survivor Series Results: 20 Things We Want to See at WWE's TLC Competition

Robert AitkenNov 22, 2010

Now that Survivor Series is finished, it is time to begin looking forward to WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs.

On December 19, WWE will have their final pay-per-view event of what has been a wacky 2010. With Christmas taking place just six days later, here is a little bit of a wish list that I have in mind for possible early presents from WWE.

No John Cena

1 of 20

I didn't think last night that John Cena would count three for Randy Orton. I certainly was under the impression of at least one two-count with a reluctance of counting three for either man.

True to his word, however, John Cena called the match down the middle last night at Survivor Series.

In the spirit of that, WWE should be true to their word and keep John Cena fired (at least for now). I know that Cena will come back out of nowhere, possibly by being rehired by the RAW GM.

Having him go from fired to back in the WWE like nothing happened in the span of four weeks is just ridiculous and will give the legitimacy of the storylines a major blow.

Edge vs. Kane in TLC Match

2 of 20

After the no-contest last night, Edge will likely get another chance at his 10th world championship.

While last year's inaugural event saw a Tables match, a Ladder match and a Chairs match (seriously, what the hell is the point of a Chairs match?), as well as a match with all three, Edge vs. Kane should have all three. Edge is a master of the TLC match and is one of the names associated with the history of the bout.

For those who see that this is a problem for Kane, he won a Money in the Bank ladder match in 2010. Even still, Kane being at a disadvantage is kind of the point. Kane won't go into 2011 with the belt still on him.

Wade Barrett Getting Another Title Shot

3 of 20

Lost in the shuffle of all of the "Free or Fired" hype is the fact that Wade Barrett nearly beat Randy Orton last night without weapons, Nexus or any other dirty tactics. It was nearly a clean win, which actually made me happy.

Last night proved that Barrett can actually hang in the main event and could honestly win clean if he needs to.

Barrett will likely argue that since Cena put his hands on him, he deserves another shot at Orton's WWE Championship. This actually has some legs to it. As Matt Striker said that night, Cena should have never put his hands on Barrett if he was acting as an impartial referee that is calling it down the line.

The shove was all that Orton needed to pull off an RKO and win the bout.

Sheamus on the Card

4 of 20

It has been a strange, up-and-down year for the Celtic Warrior. He won his first WWE Championship one year ago at this event, shocking the world when he put John Cena through a table.

After losing it at the Elimination Chamber, Sheamus regained the gold at Fatal 4-Way, only to lose it yet again. Now Sheamus is losing meaningless matches to John Morrison.

Place Sheamus somewhere on this card where what he does is relevant and he can show how ruthless he can be, while he also gains back some of that scariness to his character that made him a good heel at the beginning of this year.

Plus, Sheamus needs to be in a situation where he is close to success, when suddenly...

The Return of HHH

5 of 20

It's time, yet again, to play The Game.

It seems like as good of a time as ever to return, unless he holds back for Royal Rumble to eliminate a dominant Sheamus from his first-ever Rumble match.

Regardless, HHH has been gone for too long; we know that he is on the track back to action, and taking down Sheamus is the only way to come back that makes sense.

Unless, of course, he is the RAW GM, but more on that later.

Natalya vs. Beth Phoenix

6 of 20

At times, it is like looking at a mirror. I questioned last night if, perhaps, Jim Neidhart had a second daughter named Elizabeth Carolan (Beth Phoenix's real name, in case you don't feel like Googling it).

They are easily two of the strongest female wrestlers we have seen since Victoria and the matchup between these two friendly faces will bring some much-needed credibility to the butterfly belt.

Ted DiBiase in Another United States Title Match

7 of 20

It was nice to see DiBiase in a title match on a pay-per-view. Caught up in all of the comic relief and random matches with Goldust, we have forgotten about the question we have all been thinking about for almost a year now: Which former member of Legacy will get a singles title first?

DiBiase is in the lead in that debate after his encounter with Daniel Bryan last night, while Cody Rhodes is too concerned with getting punched in the face.

DiBiase will win it one day and the "DiBiase for WWE Champion" bandwagon will begin to roll down the road once again.

Ezekiel Jackson

8 of 20

I don't care where he is or what he does at TLC, but he should be there.

It has been a rough year for Big Zeke. Jackson wins the ECW Championship in the final night of the brand's existence, gets hurt, returns randomly at Bragging Rights, apparently has a face turn, and now is just kind of floating in limbo.

Show him doing something before I begin considering him and Shad Gaspard as a tag team in the indies.

The Breakup of Lay-Cool

9 of 20

I've had enough now. They were champions for how long? Yet the two of them lost in about three-and-a-half minutes?

Their insults have gotten worse over time, their act has become a little stale and I just don't care anymore. I'll hope to see them get a rematch, fight over who gets the pin, and the rest will fall into place.

A big plus, by the way, to the guy in Miami last night with the sign that said, "Layla has a donk." Finally, signs are more creative, funny and thought-out again.

The Identity of the RAW General Manager

10 of 20

Speaking of things I'm sick of...

I just downloaded that ringtone onto my phone to annoy my fellow wrestling fans.

This has gone on way longer than it should have. Let's just reveal the GM and get it over with. If it's HHH, let it be HHH. If it's Shawn Michaels, let it be Shawn Michaels. If it's Abraham Washington, let it.... ok, please don't make it Abraham Washington.

Daniel Bryan Getting Extreme

11 of 20

God, I love this photo.

It actually shows that Daniel Bryan is a different kind of wrestler, one that will give you something to talk about if he gets the freedom to be innovative. I can only imagine how great Bryan would be at TLC once you take his lethal kicks and throw in some weapons.

Besides, find me one other guy who will sell an injury throughout a match better than this kid.

Decent Tag Team Wrestling

12 of 20

It's the biggest stretch on my list, I think.

Have we hit total rock bottom? I believe we have.

Decent matches with decent tag teams isn't much to ask for, especially when it was tag teams that made TLC a part of our vocabulary.

MVP Wrestling and Not Getting Screwed

13 of 20

I understand that they are giving MVP a push, and I like how his losses are amid controversey, but why can't you just give him a big win in a big spot? He won a No. 1 contender's match, only to lose in controversial fashion to Dolph Ziggler for the IC title.

Last night, with help from Alberto Del Rio, MVP was pinned. Even without that, his foot broke the plane of the ropes, which causes a rope break.

I like the new theme, new attitude and new push, but make it worth his while, WWE.

The Return of Drew McIntyre's Invincibility

14 of 20

McIntyre won his first title and truly became The Chosen One at last year's TLC. Since then, bit by bit, McIntyre has seen his momentum slow and now he seems like he is almost a tweener. Seriously?

Keep Drew McIntyre brash, sinister and give him something worthy of a young guy that you admit shows a lot of promise.

R-Truth Turning Heel

15 of 20

Let's see if we can make this into a thing, Bleacher Report readers.

Whenever R-Truth sings his theme on the way to the ring, my friends and I replace the parts of "Get Buck" and "Get Crunk" with "Shut Up!" Instead of "Blow the Roof Off," we say "Shut the (censored) Up!" (We can also go PG with it and just say "hell" instead.)

R-Truth has been instigating like crazy as of late, which suggests that he will soon turn into one of those backstabbing guys.

His tagline of "That's the Truth" fits in this situation. It'll also give us a reason to have Eve do something else but dance with him all the time.

Randy Orton Loses WWE Title

16 of 20

Yep, don't be so shocked, Randy.

You're a great champion, but you are even better without it. Orton has become almost too invincible with the title. While I see the comparisons between him and Stone Cold Steve Austin, the Rattlesnake only had one reign with the championship that lasted longer than 100 days. TLC would bring Orton's reign to 91 days, which is just about the right time for him to lose it before it becomes mundane and boring that he is champion.

Besides, Orton may be needed more in the Rumble match now that there are not a lot of main-event players anymore.

John Morrison's Push Continues

17 of 20

At least I think that this is a push. With Morrison, it is always hard to tell.

A good win for Morrison last night, but he didn't even need his finisher to beat Sheamus? Odd.

I can't imagine what he will do at TLC, but with his athletic ability, I can only imagine. At least they stopped mentioning parkour...

Former Nexus Members Return

18 of 20

It would have been nice to see this last night, but what can you do?

Darren Young made some appearances and wrestled some matches after being exiled, but where is he now? Michael Tarver has been missing since he got taken out by Cena. Skip Sheffield is apparently gone from Nexus, despite the fact that all he did wrong was, apparently, just getting hurt.

Once Sheffield is better, which should be around WrestleMania time, there should be a storyline to brew from all of this.

It would be even better if David Otunga is gone by then so that he could be the leader of this group of the "Nexiled" (totally just thought of that out of nowhere, as Michael Cole would say).

Chris Jericho Saves Us Again

19 of 20

He wants to come back. He has a book coming out soon that needs promoting. We all wish that he didn't leave the way that he did.

Chris Jericho can come back and screw Randy Orton, who put him out of action. It sets up a good rivalry for Royal Rumble and possibly a WrestleMania match for them. Who cares if anything is on the line? They are both great and will both give every bit of what they have to put on a five-star match.

Blood

20 of 20

It's a simple request.

People using tables, ladders and chairs are meant to bleed. That's just what happens.

I personally hate the no-blood rules, especially when they stop a match to clean someone up. My reasoning: Their reasoning sucks.

They want to show a family-friendly product, which means that nobody can bleed. However, are kids supposed to honestly believe that getting hit with these objects won't cause you serious harm?

Instead of throwing out PSAs about how they shouldn't do these stunts at home, show some blood. No kid wants to bleed, plus it gives parents a reason to tell their children that, while they can see these wrestlers as heroes, doing what they do is dangerous.

Only blood gets that message across. Think about it.
