Kansas City Chiefs (Chiefs Schedule)

Opponent Defensive Ranks

Denver Pass Defense – 2010: Yards Allowed/Game 8th - TDs Allowed T-15th

Denver Rush Defense – 2010: Yards Allowed/Game 31st – TDs Allowed 32nd

Kansas City Offensive Cast

Matt Cassel (QB Week 10 Ranking: Not ranked) 2010 Season: 125/214 – for 1,412 yards & 12 TDs

The Broncos have a terrible rush D, so the Chiefs should be leaning towards the run this week.  If the Chiefs get behind, Cassel might be able to scratch out some decent numbers, but that’s about it.

Thomas Jones (RB Week 10 Ranking: No. 18) 2010 Season: 137 carries for 570 yards & three TDs || Four receptions for 21 yards & zero TDs

The Broncos are 31st in the league when it comes to defending the run, and Jones is still very much a workhorse type of back.  The Chiefs will use him as such in this game and could get BOTH him and Charles one hundred-plus yards on the ground when all is said and done.

Jamaal Charles (RB Week 10 Ranking: No. 5) 2010 Season: 113 carries for 719 yards & two TDs || 21 receptions for 238 yards & zero TDs

The Denver defense is much like that semi-good-looking slut you knew back in High School… easy to get into, and even easier to go all the way with.  The Broncos are 31st in rushing yards allowed/game (154.6) and dead last in TDs given up (14, 2nd worst has allowed 11).  Charles is exactly the type of back to exploit this sort of debauchery.  Bet on it.

Dwayne Bowe (WR Week 10 Ranking: No. 28) 2010 Season: 26 receptions for 420 yards & seven TDs

Bowe is on quite a streak right now catching seven TDs in his last six games, but that trend could come to an end on Sunday with Champ Bailey likely to shadow him all game long.  He’s worth a shot, but don’t expect too much.

Chris Chambers (WR Week 10 Ranking: Not ranked) 2010 Season: Eight receptions for 82 yards & zero TDs

A slow death to a man’s career really isn’t all that much fun to watch.

Dexter McCluster (WR Week 10 Ranking: Not ranked) 2010 Season: 15 receptions for 147 yards & one TD

He’s getting better, but it’s still not looking too good for McCluster this weekend.

Tony Moeaki (TE Week 10 Ranking: No. 10) 2010 Season: 30 receptions for 344 yards & two TDs

The Broncos have been pretty bad against opposing TEs so far this year (ranked 25th), so the talented rookie has a chance to repeat last week’s numbers of nine targets, six catches and 63 yards.

Denver Broncos (Broncos Schedule)

Opponent Defensive Ranks

Kansas City Pass Defense – 2010: Yards Allowed/Game 21st - TDs Allowed T-10th

Kansas City Rush Defense – 2010: Yards Allowed/Game 9th – TDs Allowed T-12th

Denver Offensive Cast

Kyle Orton (QB Week 10 Ranking: No. 5) 2010 Season: 195/316 – for 2,510 yards & 12 TDs

Orton has been one of the biggest surprises this year, and the party is only half over.  Against defenses ranked 20th or lower in the league (KC is ranked 21st), Orton has averaged 328 yards/game and 1.5 TDs/game.  Actually, he hasn’t done that much worse against the others this season averaging the same 1.5 TDs/game and just 14 yards less per game.  Basically, Captain Neckbeard has become an every-week start.  Period.

Knowshon Moreno (RB Week 10 Ranking: No. 20) 2010 Season: 76 carries for 252 yards & two TDs || 12 receptions for 127 yards & two TDs

The kid scores touchdowns.  Plain and simple.  He may not be a high-volume yardage back, and he may not get you all the numbers you’re looking for, but he scores TDs, and Denver, with Orton at the helm, gets into the red-zone.  If you’re hoping beyond hope for an RB2 this week, Moreno is your guy.

Laurence Maroney (RB Week 10 Ranking: Not ranked) 2010 Season: 36 carries for 74 yards & zero TDs || Four receptions for 50 yards & zero TDs

Maroney is barely even a backup RB at this point and should not be rostered on any team in the fantasy nation.

Correll Buckhalter (RB Week 10 Ranking: Not ranked) 2010 Season: 38 carries for 82 yards & one TD || 16 receptions for 106 yards & one TD

The Buck pretty much stops here.  Don’t bother letting him take up a roster spot on your team.

Brandon Lloyd (WR Week 10 Ranking: No. 7) 2010 Season: 42 receptions for 878 yards & four TDs

Denver will look to pass all day long against the Chiefs, which should give Lloyd a good 10-plus targets to do his damage.  The only problem will be if CB Brandon Flowers shadows him all game long.  If that happens, don’t expect the world out of Lloyd, but he should still be able to work a little magic.

Eddie Royal (WR Week 10 Ranking: No. 45) 2010 Season: 38 receptions for 427 yards & two TDs

Royal should be completely healthy for the first time in awhile, and with Brandon Flowers likely on Lloyd all game long, it's possible Royal does some damage this weekend like he had been earlier in the year.  With the Broncos becoming a pass-first, pass-second, pass-third type of team this year, it wouldn’t surprise me to see Eddie put up starter-worthy numbers this week.

Jabar Gaffney (WR Week 10 Ranking: No. 29) 2010 Season: 45 receptions for 516 yards & one TD

If Brandon Flowers is covering Brandon Lloyd all day, like Royal, Gaffney could reap the benefits in this game.  He’s been up-and-down all year, but I have a sneaky suspicion this could be one of those “up” games for Jabar.

Demaryius Thomas (WR Week 10 Ranking: Not ranked) 2010 Season: 16 receptions for 215 yards & two TDs

Demaryius has the skills to put up some numbers, so hold onto him for a late-season run.

Daniel Graham (TE Week 10 Ranking: Not ranked) 2010 Season: 12 receptions for 94 yards & zero TDs

He’s no Shannon Sharpe, that’s for sure.  In fact, he’s barely worth a sharpie pen!
