Dallas Cowboys: Should Jerry Jones Fire Head Coach Wade Phillips and Hire Me?
It was a tough day in Arlington yesterday. Last night the Texas Rangers were shut out once again by the San Francisco Giants, 4-0.
I can live with the Rangers’ performance because at least they are playing for something. The heartless Dallas Cowboys are seemingly playing just to be playing.
Based on ownership, the coaching staff and how the team is performing, one would have to admit the Cowboys are a pitiful excuse for an NFL franchise.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
That’s right, I said it. I put my name on it. The Dallas Cowboys stink.
The Dallas Cowboys were once known as America's Team. Now it doesn’t seem like they are good enough to be considered Arlington’s team of choice.
After the Cowboys lost to the mediocre Jacksonville Jaguars, 35-17, befuddled head coach Wade Phillips was asked what he could do to try and turn things around. Phillips responded, "If I knew what to do I would have already done it."
Are you kidding me?
How can a so-called trained professional, who is fortunate enough to have one of 32 unique jobs in America, answer a question in this fashion?
Phillips not only doesn’t know what to do, but how to do it?
The “what” in this equation is coaching and the “how” is leadership. Quite frankly, Phillips has shown no indication this year that he coach or lead a football team.
If Phillips can lead an NFL franchise while simultaneously professing before the world he doesn’t know what to do, why not hire me?
Give me $200,000 and a head set for the remainder of the season, because I believe I can do what Phillips is doing, which is virtually nothing.
Owner Jerry Jones has been asked consistently about whether or not Phillips will be fired. Jones holds steadfastly to his guns. He is sticking with Phillips because he believes he gives the Cowboys the best chance to win.
Best chance to win what?
The way the Cowboys are playing right now, I think they would have problems handling the likes of Auburn or Boise State at the collegiate level.
The Cowboys have been hailed as the sexy pick to go to the Super Bowl every year, because they are so talented. All of the so-called experts have started this universal rumor years ago that many of you astute fans have bought into.
I didn’t embrace the Cowboys' so-called superior talent as a fan nor professionally.
What the Cowboys resemble is a dysfunctional, wealthy family that lacks identity. The owner built his children, "Jerry World." He built a billion dollar state-of-the-art complex for his talented children to play in.
Jones pays his players extremely well, and has been known to take chances on at-risk players, giving them a second chance. Jones has even shown restraint in firing a coach that obviously doesn’t know what to do because he admitted as such.
The problem with the Cowboys is they are forever living off what used to be and not dealing with what is.
What used to be was franchise with a legacy of winning Super Bowls.
What used to be were superstar players like Roger Staubach, Tony Dorsett, Emmitt Smith, Troy Aikman, Charles Haley and Michael Irvin playing up to their ability and understanding what it was like to be a Dallas Cowboy.
The Cowboys used to have great leaders in Tom Landry and Jimmy Johnson. Both coaches delivered the goods and their players respected them. I would bet everything that Landry and Johnson would never suggest publicly, "If I knew what to do I would have already done it."
Bottom line: The Cowboys are a collection of highly-paid spoiled brats who lack an identity or true leader at the head coach position. Who cares that Miles Austin was dating Kim Kardashian or if Tony Romo can qualify for the US Open? Who really cares if Dez Bryant paid a ridiculous meal tab of over $50,000.00?
Shouldn’t their collective focus be on winning football games?
If all it takes to be a head coach for the Dallas Cowboys is to look bewildered, let the player do as they please and hold press conferences admitting they can’t coach, then why not hire me?
In the Cowboys' case, either the organization is a farce or coaching in the NFL isn’t that difficult. Professionally, I think it is the former and not the latter.
Seemingly, anyone can come off the sidewalk and do what Phillips is doing up to this point.
If the Cowboys need someone to give the team a spark, give me a call. I feel I can come off the sidewalk with no head coaching experience and at least equal what Phillips has done thus far. Maybe I can get lucky and even win a game.
If all it takes to coach the Cowboys is letting the players do what they wish, and admit you can’t coach, why not give me a shot?
The way the Cowboys are playing, I can’t hurt them more than they have already hurt themselves.
