Arsenal Debate: Is Jack Wilshere the Natural Successor To Cesc Fabregas?
Based on Arsenal's current performance so far, Arsenal fans would be hard-pressed to convince themselves of the possibility that Cesc Fabregas, the current Arsenal captain is going to stay at the Emirates Stadium much longer.
This isn't a pessimistic assumption, fans must face the fact that the Catalan has his heart set on departing for the Nou Camp eventually, and with Arsenal's lack of silverware (and lack of spending), Fabregas will find it more tempting to leave for Barcelona sooner rather than later.
However, the Arsenal fans shouldn't dwell or fear that their captain is leaving, they will be able to cope with his departure.

Instead, here are the two problems that will definitely arise when the Catalan departs:
1. Who will fill the gap left by Fabregas?
2. Will Wenger spend the fortune received from the sale of the Spaniard on reinforcements?
While the answers to the latter question is truly easy to predict, the answer to the former may not be. This is mainly due to the fact that Fabregas is a beast when it comes to influencing the game and making a difference, and also the fact that whoever fills the role is expected to perform as well as the current Arsenal captain.
In fact, with Arsenal not winning any trophies in recent season, fans will hope that the replacement performs better than the Spaniard.
Arsene Wenger is in no way a spender. After all, the Frenchman is an economist, so the thought of him buying a player that has qualities equal to those of the Spaniard are simply ludicrous at best. A player of Fabregas' qualities will cost no less than 40 million Euros, so the more reasonable answer is to have some one from the current Arsenal squad fill in for the Cataln.
And while many people might point at Nasri being able to fill the gap left by the Spaniard, the Frenchman has his own style of play, putting him in a Cesc Fabregas-like role will only hinder his progress and his ability to impact the game, not to mention the fact that Nasri is better on the wings than in the middle of the park.
There are two youngsters that can easily fill the gap that will be blown open by Fabregas, and they have the ability to make the difference for Arsenal in the future.
Aaron Ramsey, and Jack Wilshere. Both youngsters are two of the most talented teens on the planet, the fact that they are members of the first team at such a young age is proof of their abilities and talents, and also proof that the Arsenal youth academy is superior to the other academies in England.
Last season, Aaron Ramsey has been a revelation of sorts, his ability to stop the opponents and making an inch perfect pass or cross has been phenomenal, and the fact that he uses both feet with excellent precision is to be admired. Had it not been for last season's horrendous tackle by Shawcross, Ramsey would have probably been in the starting line-up for the majority of the Arsenal games.
Wilshere on the hand was loaned to Bolton, and while that means that technically he isn't a one club man (something Arsenal have missed greatly over the years) the youngster has gained valuable experience with Bolton, and even scored his first ever premier league goal. England's new hope will truly be a legend, should he realize his full potential.
The Welshman and the Wilshere have what it takes to fill the gap, but it would probably be Wilshere who fills the role, Ramsey can play behind Wilshere in the center of the pitch where he truly excels, while Wilshere would be able to make his magic in the final third of the opposition. This would give Arsenal magnificent fire power in the middle of the park, and with Song backing Wilshere, the young Englishman can easily fill in for the Spaniard.
Fabregas is man who has the talent and ability to wow the fans, his imminent departure would be a loss to all Arsenal fans, and a true joy to every Barcelona fan(boy), but Wilshere has the ability to adorn the game just as much as the Spaniard, if not more.
And if it's any indication based on his performances and impact on the matches he participates in, he might already be the successor to Fabregas in the Arsenal team, at least as far as fans are concerned.
They might still be teenagers, but if there is anyone who knows how to make a legend out of a teenager, it's Arsene Wenger.
Fabregas is already out of Arsenal's plans in the long term, the thought of him staying with the team for 10 years or so is nothing more than an illusion that is best left ignored. And perhaps Wenger knows it as well, it may not be a coincidence that Wilshere has been playing too many games with the first team and performing admirably in them, he knows the burden that will soon be placed on his shoulders.
The question is: Does Jack Wilshere has what it takes to be the successor for Cesc Fabregas?
The answer, is a definite "Yes."
