By Not Laying Down the Law, New York Jets Will Eventually Pay
Last season, the New York Jets were 7-7 through 14 games with a rookie head coach and quarterback. They backed into the playoffs thanks to the Colts taking all of their star players out in the second half.
After getting all the way to the AFC Championsip game, the Jets' talking increased dramatically. That led to a featured Hard Knocks appearance, and everyone was caught up in their hype. As they started to become more cocky, they also started acting more selfish and stupid, and now it's starting to hurt the team.
The Jets have a pretty big game coming up for a third game of a season. They beat the Patriots on Sunday, making Tom Brady look terrible in the second half, and they'd love to beat the Dolphins this Sunday night to technically move into first place.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The problem is, they'll be without two key players at the start of the game. It's not because the two players suffered a serious on-field injury. It's because of selfishness and actions that shouldn't be made by professional athletes.
Darrelle Revis wanted to get his pay, and deservingly so. But that doesn't mean he couldn't have at least worked out a little in training camp, or even work out on his own. He claims he did work out while waiting to get the call from the Jets, but apparently, it wasn't hard enough.
Either thinking he's invincible or not caring for his teammates, Revis took it upon himself to act like a clown and demand the most money of any corner back in the league.
This, though, isn't the fault of Revis. It's how the Jets and head coach Rex Ryan have decided to act. Ryan wanted Revis to be Defensive Player of the Year last season, before it was given to Charles Woodson. It only made Revis believe more and more that he's better than the team itself.
Now, Braylon Edwards decides to drink and drive in the streets of New York City at twice the legal limit. His former teammate, Donte Stallworth, killed a pedestrian in Miami in 2009 becuause of the same reason, drunk driving.
Once again, every Jets player seemingly believes that they're entitled to do whatever they feel like doing, no matter what the laws are.
The Jets, though, had a chance to step up and make a statement. Not a formal statement to the media about being "disappointed" in Edwards like Rex Ryan and owner Woody Johnson have said. But making a statement by not allowing Edwards to play on Sunday or for the near future.
He's not allowed to be suspended as a first time offender of DWI, but nobody can stop the Jets from benching him. Yet, they have decided to allow Edwards to play in the game, but not start.
Well, what does that mean? That could mean sitting him for the first offensive series and then putting him in. It's not a smart move, and it shows you how much the Jets care about criminal and foolish activity.
They may be thinking about winning, but by giving their players the continued rights to believe they stand out above all others, they are hurting themselves.
The Jets beat the Patriots in the second half on Sunday without Revis, but that's because the Patriots didn't have time to prepare for a defense without him. The Dolphins have started preparing and scheming for no Darrelle Revis since their win over the Vikings.
Without Edwards, although he shouldn't play, it thins the Jets receiver possibilities. The bottom line is, the Jets have allowed their players to do what they feel, no matter if it's right or wrong.
In the long haul, the Jets are going to pay, unless they start taking disciplinary actions immediately.
