Michael Vick: Is His Contract the Reason Andy Reid Is Sticking With Kevin Kolb?
The quarterback carousel continues to turn in Philadelphia as Kevin Kolb already is being named the starter for Week 3 against Jacksonville.
Kolb was named the starter coming out of training camp, but the drumbeat for Michael Vick to be named the permanent starting quarterback grew a little louder after his performance Sunday against Detroit.
Now ESPN's Adam Schefter is saying Vick's contract incentives could be one of the reasons Head Coach Andy Reid is sticking with Kolb.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
"Vick can collect up to $2.75 million in playing-time incentives, according to NFLPA documents," Schefter said.
Schefter broke it down further, noting if Vick plays "at least 51 percent of the offensive plays in nine or more games," he will collect an $850,000 bonus. If that number goes to 11 games, tack on another $1.05 million
If that number hits 13 games, that's another $850,000.
While there has not been any official word on the subject from the Eagles front office, or Reid, you can bet there comments will be dismissive and note contract incentives have nothing to do with player-personnel decisions or who plays when.
Whenever the players or front offices say it's not about the money, it's about the money.
That being said, the Eagles already have a lot of time and money invested in Kolb. Reid drafted him and has a vested interest in seeing Kolb be successful.
The Eagles don't have as much money invested in Vick, and therefore becomes a better option to stay on the sidelines most of the game.
However, talent will win out, and Kolb now is on the clock. We really haven't seen enough of Kolb to determine if he's the future of the Eagles or not, but we have seen enough of Vick to know what we're going to get.
Kolb now is under even more pressure to win because Vick has proved he can do it in an Eagles uniform, and Vick already noted he thought the Eagles would've won the Packers game had he played all four quarters.
But if the Eagles are worried about money, they're going to have to pull the trigger on Kolb quick if they want to make the playoffs.
Nothing brings money into an organization like the postseason and the excitement (and profits) a playoff game generates.
Plus, Vick's incentives are pocket change to an NFL organization. If shelling out an extra $2 million ends up earning them another $30 million, no one will debate that it was money well spent.
