The Obviousness Of Randy Orton LOSING at Night Of Champions

Randy RileySep 17, 2010

WWE makes some pretty obvious booking decisions from time to time but I don't think I have seen anything so obvious as what they are planning for Randy Orton at this Sunday's Night Of Champions PPV.

I would bet good money (and a whole lot of it) that Randy Orton will NOT walk out of the PPV with the WWE Championship. And this has nothing to do with whether he should or shouldn't but everything to do with how WWE is scripting this.

A few reasons for my predictions:

With Jayson Tatum sidelined, Celtics' fourth-quarter comeback falls short in Game 7 loss to 76ers

(1). Randy Orton has dominated RAW since the last PPV. His only negative came from a defeat thanks to Wade Barrett when he was part of an elimination main event three weeks ago. Other than that, including the most important final RAW this past Monday, he was victorious against the face of the company, John Cena, in a tables match. And in the last two weeks, he has delivered countless RKO's and RAW has gone off the air with "Voices" playing and Orton standing tall. Booking 101 in the WWE has always been that once someone goes into a PPV with all the momentum, they lose.

(2). This week's WWE Power 25 was recently updated and said the following:

WWE's Apex Predator maintains his spot atop the P25 after defeating John Cena in a Tables Match on Raw. Will the white-hot Viper walk out of Night of Champions with the WWE Championship?

With a statement like that, rest assured the exact opposite will happen.

(3). The WWE's "three count", a website based prediction they do for every PPV has been updated for Night Of Champions saying the following:

Prediction: Although the elimination style match brings plenty of unpredictability, it's the perfect environment for Randy Orton and the always spontaneous RKO. With the ability to strike fast and hard, The Viper is coiled to come out on top.

With a statement like that, rest assured the exact opposite will happen.

(4). The wash, rinse, repeat formula that has gone down truly since Wrestlemania is for Orton to dominate RAW, get an opportunity for the title, and then lose at the PPV. I don't see a single reason why this formula will be broken this Sunday night.

If any Orton fans on the net are thinking about ordering this PPV because they feel confident that Randy is about to win his seventh championship, please think twice about spending the cash. You will be thankful you didn't waste it because come RAW this Monday night, the WWE Championship will not be around his waist.
