Is Dixie Carter Making TNA a Sinking Ship Or a Rising Star

The Doctor Chris MuellerSep 7, 2010

TNA has been under extreme scrutiny ever since they brought in Hogan and Bischoff. And rightfully so, a company that prided themselves on being different than WWE has brought in guys who are trying to make TNA into another WWE.

Hogan and Bischoff have scaled back their on screen appearances recently, mostly due to Hogan's nagging back issues, but have they sent TNA down the road to stardom or bankruptcy.

TNA has gone from a six sided ring to a traditional four sided ring, they have tried to ressurect ECW unsuccessfully, and they are pushing guys who used to be WWE mainstays.

So what makes TNA unique?

Every so often TNA has a glimmer of hope, and it is usually because of their homegrown talent and not the WWE castoffs.

The Motorcity Machine Guns and Beer Money had a series of five amazing tag team matches that helped show TNA has some great talent.

AJ Styles is always impressive, and Generation Me is starting to make waves in TNA's tag team division by showing the world that wrestling isn't all about character, but the talent of the people in the ring.

Jay Lethal might just be one of the most entertaining guys on the roster. His exchanges with Ric Flair have been incredible, and Flair has made every effort to let people know that outside the ring he loves Jay Lethal.

Another TNA talent who is showing us some innovation is The Pope. While he may have gotten his start in WWE, he has taken his game to a whole new level in TNA.

His promos are always entertaining and his in ring ability has exploded since coming to the Florida based promotion.

On the other hand TNA is also pushing three guys who made their names in WWE. Kurt Angle, Jeff Hardy, and Mr. Anderson have been the top guys to take the title left vacant by RVD.

Is TNA making the right move by showcasing a bunch of former WWE stars, or are they making the same mistakes WCW made?

One thing I know for sure is that if TNA wants to compete with WWE then they need to start touring and get out of the sound stage at Universal Studios.

They are limiting their success by limiting their live audience. Their live shows get less than 3000 fans on most occasions, if they hope to jump into the pool with a shark like WWE then they better bring a big spear gun, because WWE has done a pretty good job over the years of keeping TNA at bay.

I hope TNA turns things around and doesn't keep cutting its homegrown talent from the roster and starts realizing that it was these people who got them where they are now.

Remember Petey Williams? The guy with the coolest finisher in TNA? Where is he now?

TNA has dropped the ball with a few guys and hopefully they don't keep repeating their mistakes.

What do you guys feel is going to happen with the way TNA has been doing things?
