3. East Carolina wins a wild season opener on a Hail Mary pass on the last play of the game to defeat Tulsa 51-49 in Ruffin McNeil’s coaching debut.
4. Tony Stewart wins his first Sprint Cup race this season, winning the Night race at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
5. Texas Rangers’ Josh Hamilton may be out for an extended period of time after injuring his ribs on Saturday.
