Tim Tebow and the Most Fascinating Players in the NFL
We can all agree on one thing: football is king in the States.
Basketball closed the gap a little with all the offseason drama, but "are you ready for some basketball" just doesn't have the same ring to it.
So who are the most fascinating players in the NFL?
What guys will keep you riveted to the TV, even if they aren't on your fantasy team?
Let's countdown the ten guys who will keep us watching this year.
10. Chris Johnson
1 of 10The guy keeps saying how great he is going to be, and he backs it up on the field.
So when he says he is going to crush all the rushing records and wants to be the face of the NFL, how can we doubt him?
And now that we know he can make a funny commercial (intentional or otherwise), he might be even more fun to watch.
Besides, how long will it take you to decide who to draft if you somehow get the first pick in your fantasy league?
9. Tony Romo
2 of 10
He dates hot celebrities and he is the quarterback of "America's Team," which just happens to have the Super Bowl as a home game if they can get there.
His owner is larger than life and his team seems ready to take the next step.
There's even the possibility of double dates with Kim Kardashian and Miles Austin.
What's not to like?
8. Terrell Owens and Chad Ochocinco
3 of 10
To me, TO and Ochocinco are going to be one entity all year.
You can't ask about one without asking about the other. They're like a great comedy team: Laurel and Hardy, Lewis and Martin, Palin and Fey.
They deliver the goods off the field and, if the Bengals are lucky, on the field as well.
How much better would last year's Hard Knocks have been with a dash of "I love me some me?"
7. Donovan McNabb
4 of 10
Would the Colts trade Peyton Manning to Houston?
Would the Saints send Brees packing to the Carolina Panthers?
I don't think so.
And yet the Eagles traded the best QB their franchise has ever had to another team in their division.
McNabb isn't polarizing, and yet people have always taken shots at him.
Rush Limbaugh, Terrell Owens, even some Eagles fans.
And yet he keeps playing, and his new Redskins jersey keeps selling.
His stay in DC will either make or break his legacy as a potential Hall of Fame player.
6. Albert Haynesworth
5 of 10
Who doesn't love drama?
He hates his coach, he hates his new position... Hell, the only thing he doesn't hate is his Friday afternoon visit to the Redskins payroll office.
Whether you want him to fall on his face or start earning some of that $100 million dollars he's banked, you'll watch him.
5. Ben Roethlisberger
6 of 10
You want to know if he's turned over a new leaf, right?
You want to know if he can come back in game five (or seven) and lead the Steelers to another title.
Would you be surprised if he was caught partying again by TMZ? Probably not.
But you'd read every detail of it.
4. Tom Brady
7 of 10
Just a couple of years ago there was talk of him being on the short list of greatest quarterbacks ever.
That talk has died down lately.
Now when you hear his name, it's because of his wife (Gisele Bundchen), his former WAG (Bridget Moynahan), his haircut (Justin Bieber), or his contract (what contract?).
Does Brady have to prove himself all over again?
3. Michael Vick
8 of 10
We'll never forget what he went to prison for, nor will he ever get back to the level of superstardom that he had before the arrest.
But what about the Eagles? How set in stone is Kevin Kolb? How many losses or interceptions will it take to start a quarterback controversy?
Will he prove enough this year to go play somewhere else and be a legitimate, every-down starter again?
Is Vick still exciting to watch?
2. Tim Tebow
9 of 10
He has the top selling jersey in the league, but you know that.
He is a great teammate and a hard worker; you probably have heard that over the last few weeks as well.
He is the most talked-about third-string quarterback, probably ever.
Still not news.
If you know all that, my prediction that he will be the second most fascinating story for this upcoming NFL year shouldn't be that surprising either.
1. Brett Favre
10 of 10
His press conference after going in for four plays in a preseason game was almost as long as LeBron's "Decision".
In the last few weeks, ESPN has preempted several shows to bring you breaking news of Favre climbing out of his car.
Is it too much coverage?
Probably.
Will it continue unless the Vikings fall absolutely flat on their faces?
Definitely.
Will we watch?...
