Sting Does Not Belong in the WWE Hall of Fame
I wrote this article mainly because I grew bored with the Hardcore Justice PPV. I watched it for about 45 minutes and gave up. Definitely glad I didn't waste money to watch it on TV. Just saying.
There's been talk about what will happen at next year's HOF induction ceremony in Atlanta, home to WCW. Some people, including Jim Ross, have voiced their opinions about inducting "The Icon" Sting into the WWE Hall of Fame. Good ol' JR seems to think that he should be in, but I don't know how much I can trust him in his old age. Any dog that was kicked that many times by its master would've taken off years ago. I can generally assume that Jim Ross is smarter than the average canine, if anything else a much better play-by-play caller.

Sting is one of the greatest wrestlers of all time, there's no denying that. He's the only man to ever win PWI's Most Popular Wrestler four times and has had a career that has been rivaled by very, very few people.
Sting was there for WCW's glory days and as well as it's not so glory days. He won the final WCW match, giving us all one last look at what made the company what is was.
Sting was WCW.
There's a good YouTube video that shows why Steven Borden never went to WWE. In typical Sting fashion, he was extremely respectful of Vinne Mac while maintaining that he was unsure if WWE would treat his character properly.
There was no TNA at the time, meaning that Sting was okay with ending his time on national TV rather than go to the WWE. That says a lot about his reluctance toward the company.
Now I don't expect Sting to be inducted next year in Atlanta. He may be 51, but next April seems a bit soon to expect him out of TNA. There's pretty much no chance that WWE would induct a wrestler working for a rival promotion. And there shouldn't be.
I don't think it would be appropriate for WWE to induct Sting in any other fashion than as part of a collective induction of WCW's legends. To induct Sting by himself does nothing for The Icon or the WWE.
Sting didn't build a career based on his refusal to join the WWE. He was always respectful about a potential employer (Bryan Danielson could learn from that). That could be a trait that McMahon likes enough to warrant induction into his HOF.
Sting was one of the few WCW stars who never made a name for themselves in the WWE. Ric Flair, Bret Hart, Hulk Hogan, and Steve Austin (not that he's a WCW big shot) are already in the HOF. Kevin Nash, Randy Savage, Vader, Booker T, and maybe Scott Hall will probably get in to the WWE Hall of Fame. That's pretty much all the people who deserve it.
Sting will always have his ties to the WWE through DVD releases of WCW events. A WWE Hall of Fame ring on his finger seems a bit too much for the greatest wrestler to never work a match for the WWE.
It could make for a good storyline in TNA, though, if he, Hogan, Flair, and Abyss are still around if he gets inducted.
