MLB Power Rankings, Week 18
1) Los Angeles Angels: No question about it. They're dominating both on the road and at home. The bullpen is getting the job done for the Halos.
2) New York Mets: A month ago, this team was nowhere near the front-half of this list. Manuel has sparked this team.
3) Milwaukee Brewers: The addition of CC is looking to be the trade of the year.
4) Boston Red Sox: They might be struggling, compared to their standards, but they're the Red Sox.
5) Chicago White Sox: Yes, the South Side team has overtaken the North Side. Quentin is making a strong push for MVP.
6) Chicago Cubs: The Cubs have won three out of their last seven games. And, with a series coming up against the Brewers, the situation doesn't look too good for the Cubbies.
7) Tampa Bay Rays: They are still ahead of the Sox.
8) New York Yankees: They're on FIRE! Cano can't be stopped, but A-Rod needs to step it up.
9) Philadelphia Phillies: Can they beat the Mets? Do they have pitching?
10) Minnesota Twins: The American League's quiet team.
11) Florida Marlins: The National League's quiet team.
12) Texas Rangers: Terrible defense, terrible pitching, top offense.
13) Detroit Tigers: The most overhyped preseason team. But why not?
14) St. Louis Cardinals: Could possibly make the postseason.
15) Toronto Blue Jays: Average offense, defense, and fielding.
16) Arizona Diamondbacks: Just swept the Giants. Look out, World Series.
17) Oakland A's: Falling apart.
18) Atlanta Braves: Jair Jurrjens.
19) Los Angeles Dodgers: Russell Martin is hitting .260 since June.
20) Cincinnati Reds: Arroyo has an ERA over 5.00. Jr. is struggling, and so is everyone on that team.
21) Baltimore Orioles: No pitching.
22) Colorado Rockies: They have a shot if they get hot like last season.
23) Cleveland Indians: 2009 season = rebuilding season.
24) Houston Astros: The only reason they aren't 30th is because of Miguel and Berkman.
25) San Francisco Giants: They're young. Just give 'em a few years.
26) Pittsburgh Pirates: Why did they trade Nady and Marte?
27) Seattle Mariners: By far the biggest disappointment.
28) Kansas City Royals: Sign Tony Peña Jr. up. He did better than any of their pitchers.
29) Washington Nationals: New stadium—a waste of billions of dollars. No real All-Stars—a waste of a team. Having no fan support—priceless!
30) San Diego Padres: What can I say? No one is hitting or pitching. Peavy is having an off-season and Hoffman should retire.
