With counties still in Twenty20 action, only three games took place this round with Gloucestershire closing the gap on leaders Glamorgan.
The Welsh side sit top with 126 points, winning five, drawing one, and losing two games.
Gloucestershire are second on 124 points, winning five, drawing one, and losing three games. Their latest match a 10 wicket victory over Middlesex at Bristol.
Middlesex batted first and made 236, Josh Davey top scoring with 61 while Anthony Ireland took 5-25.
Gloucestershire built a solid first innings lead as James Franklin's 99 helped the home side to 420.
Middlesex managed 228 second time around, Neil Dexter hitting a 47-ball 54, but Jon Lewis took 4-45.
Gloucestershire chased the required 45, for the loss of no wickets to seal the win.
Sussex are third with 112 points, winning four, drawing two, and losing two games.
Leicestershire are fourth on 111 points with four wins, one draw, and four defeats after their seven wicket win over Worcestershire at Worcester.
The home side batted first but could only make 175, Gareth Andrew making an unbeaten 53.
Leicestershire responded with 309 as Will Jefferson hit 64, and Andrew took 3-68.
Daryl Mitchell (77), James Cameron (75) and Andrew (79) dragged Worcestershire to 315, setting Leicestershire 182 to win.
The away side reached their target for the loss of only three wickets and leap-frog Worcestershire in the table.
Worcestershire sit fifth on 102 points with three wins, two draws, and three defeats.
Northamptonshire are sixth on 99 points, winning four, drawing one, and losing three.
Surrey climbed two places to seventh on 86 points, winning two, drawing three, and losing four after they beat Derbyshire by 42 runs at Chesterfield.
Surrey made 391 in their first innings, Mark Ramprakash falling one short of a ton while Tim Groenewald took 5-86.
Wayne Madsen (109) and Lee Goddard (67) ensured Derbyshire posted a competitive reply of 237 as no other batsmen scored more than 14.
Contributions all the way down ensured Surrey made 253 in their second innings, setting Derbyshire 408 for victory.
Derbyshire put up a valiant effort before eventually falling just short on 365, Chris Tremlett taking 4-94.
That defeat leaves the county second from bottom on 83 points, winning two, drawing two, and losing five of their games.
Middlesex are now bottom with 82 points after two wins, two draws, and six defeats following their loss to Gloucestershire.
