Cleveland Browns Preview: 2010 Has Familiar Faces Opposing Browns
The Cleveland Browns have moved more players on and off of their roster over the past three years than perhaps any other team in the league.
This is what happens when there is a high coaching and front office turnover.
After moving many players out the door, the Browns will face many former players during the 2010 season and some of those players will not get good receptions when they step on the football field at Cleveland Browns Stadium.
Week 1 @ Tampa Bay—Kellen Winslow Jr., TE
1 of 5
Winslow was a pain at times while wearing the orange and brown, but his production (when healthy) was not to be argued with either.
Making the Pro Bowl in 2007 and tied Ozzie Newsome single season record for receptions (89) are two highlights of Winslow's time in Cleveland.
Many Browns fans loved him, but many more hated him—regardless he was indeed a warrior on the field and never was shy when it came to taking hits.
Too bad he had to get in that motorcycle accident, because Winslow could have easily been one of the best tight ends in the NFL right now.
Week 2 Chiefs @ Cleveland—Romeo Crennel, Defensive Coordinator
2 of 5Crennel was indeed a players coach, who was very relaxed when it came to discipline and that showed many times on the field during his time in Cleveland.
Even though his Browns record was a measly 24-40, many fans and players still respected Crennel to the highest regard and now that he has landed back on his feet after hip surgery in Kansas City, the fans will get to see him first hand once more.
The Chiefs will be in Cleveland for the home opener and Browns fans will get to see Crennel on the sideline for the opposing team.
(Fans will also get a first hand look at first rounder Eric Berry who the Browns wanted badly, but did not trade up to get—we shall see if that was a wise more or not in week 2.)
Week 3 & 16 Vs. Ravens—Donte' Stallworth, WR
3 of 5
Everyone should know Stallworth's story so this will not touch on it at all.
Signed by the Browns prior to the 2008 season to compliment then-receiver Braylon Edwards, but Stallworth fought through injury and injury in 2008 and was a non-factor.
Then he was cut after his year-long suspension from the NFL during the 2009 season.
Now trying to reinvented his career with a promising Ravens offense, Stallworth will be running routes against a revamped Browns secondary that will be looking to hit and hit hard with additions of heavy hitters including: Sheldon Brown, Joe Haden, Larry Asante, and T.J. Ward.
Week 10 Jets @ Cleveland—Braylon Edwards, WR
4 of 5Edwards is a very talented receiver when he wants to be.
Lack of focus and an ego was he demise in Cleveland, especially since he kept saying that Browns fans hated him because he went to Michigan for college.
Well, Browns fans didn't hate him UNTIL he started saying that.
Regardless, Edwards' appearance at Cleveland Browns Stadium in week 10 will undoubtedly be accompanied by many boos all game long.
Week 10 Jets @ Cleveland—Brodney Pool, S
5 of 5
Pool would still be wearing an orange helmet if he did not have multiple concussions in his young career.
Not a big playmaker, Pool did create a good amount of turnovers for the Browns, but now he will try and pick off Browns quarterbacks in 2010 when he comes to familiar Cleveland Browns Stadium in week 10.
