2010 FIFA World Cup: USA Should Use Bad Call As Motivation against Algeria
It is in the hands of the Statesmen; win and in.
After the most controversial call in U.S. Soccer History, USA still finds their fate in their own hands.
In all reality, the call didn’t affect USA’s chances of getting out of group play.

The worst position to be in during group play is when your future lies on the shoulders of another team.
USA has complete control, and was fortunate with the result of the England and Algeria game ending 0-0.
If you were to ask Bob Bradley before the World Cup started whether or not he would be pleased to be in the current situation that he is in, I’m guessing he would.
If you were to tell him the story of how he got there, definitely not so much—but any nation's goal in the last game of group play is to be in the position the Yanks are in—playing against the weakest team in their group.
It’s a long trip home and there's a lot of time to think what could have become of the Cup finals, so be that team to turn a negative into a positive by turning the call into motivation.
Let’s be honest; Bradley and his boys shouldn’t have permitted Slovenia to jump out in the first half to a two goal lead in the first place.
They did, fought back honorably, and should have won—but that’s what you allow to happen when your give up two early goals.
Come out early and come out strong.
I have heard Donovan and multiple players say they are playing the last games of group play like it is the finals. Well this time, play the first half like it’s the last half of the finals.
Realize that the call still left you alive.
To me, the call is a blessing in disguise because it didn’t affect USA’s chances of advancing to the next round, and hopefully made them realize even more that they must come out hungry and fierce like they did in the second half against Slovenia.
If the call does affect USA’s advancement out of group play by either tying or losing to Algeria, they don’t deserve to advance being unable to get a win from the 66th ranked nation and the 59th ranked nation in Slovenia.
In recent history, USA has played best with their backs against the wall, and because of it have been denounced with the name of “Comeback Kings.”
The main concern with that name is that you need to be losing in order to come back, so become something different, become something better, become the No. 1 team in Group C.
Your destiny awaits…
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO USA!!!!!!!!!!
