Liverpool Job Looks Headed to Dalglish's Choice Manuel Pellegrini?
After a sudden turn of events at Anfield, if Manuel Pellegrini's adviser Marco Piciolli's words are anything to go by, the ex-Real Madrid coach has surged ahead in the race ahead of Hodgson for the Anfield hot seat.
The Chilean was ruled out of favor by his former employers, Real Madrid, who have continued their peculiar tradition of sacking coaches as per their whims even after the team managed a whopping 96 points last season in the La Liga.
Pellegrini is considered a very respectable coach especially in South America. However it was his successful spell with Villareal that has made him a nomination for the Liverpool job, as per reports.

Manuel Pellegrini also has the backing of King Kenny, who himself considered returning to the Liverpool hot seat only to be apparently opposed by the management. It is considered that Manuel Pellegrini, who was not really considered in the first list of candidates for the post, had a meeting with the Liverpool legend and matters relating to the issue have been discussed,
With Al-Fayed, the owner of Fulham, still insisting on Hodgson's reign to continue at Craven Cottage and Hodgson apparently happy in his role there, Pellegrini has strongly emerged a contender for the job at Liverpool.
In all fairness, in accordance to Pellegrini's vast experience and successful coaching stint at Villareal—where he took the club to a record finish—the 56-year-old Chilean has been fairly underestimated.
Being six years younger to the speculated favorite Hodgson, the ex-Real Madrid coach also has more years of active service under his belt. Villareal's dominance in a league highly dominated by Barcelona and Real Madrid also really adds feathers to his cap. His win record with Villareal is 47.75 percent and with Real Madrid is 75 percent, all of which is quite impressive.
Although his transfer market ability is still questionable after he bought in a host of players at Real Madrid and still could not make them fit smoothly into the squad, Manuel Pellegrini could well lure talented stars like Alexis Sanchez, et al, who are local talents from Chile, thus making up the best of the transfer market this time.
However with the strange see-saw of events at Anfield, what really is the outcome of all this drama remains to be seen.
