2010 NBA Champions: Kobe Bryant Shoots 6-for-24 and Lakers Still Win

Isaiah MontoyaJun 18, 2010

Kobe has now won 5 rings and yet he falls immensely short of being compared to Jordan, or even Magic for that matter.

With an abysmal 6/24 shooting night (25 percent) and 0/6 from three point range with only 2 assists, we saw Kobe try to leave his imprint on a title win, but it was to no avail. The hustle and intelligence of Gasol and Fisher saved Kobe from being exposed for what he is: The most overrated player of all-time.

Just one of many overlooked bad nights for Kobe in the Finals where over his career he has barely hit 40 percent.

He definitely tried to take over at certain points in game 7 but it just didn't work. Thanks to a truly amazing effort by the other Lakers, Kobe has another ring. Boston totally sucked on defense and decision making in one of the worst played finals in NBA history.

Game 7 proved that the NBA has regressed to a level of crappy play, with guys who are considered great shoot 25 percent and still win a title. Man, what happened to the league? Please make players go to college NBA.

Missing all six threes he took and also missing four free throws takes Kobe forever out of the debate of the greatest players ever.

After game 7, it is solid who the top eight basketball players ever are. None of them would have played so bad in a big game and forever tarnish their image to millions like Kobe just did.

In 45 minutes he scored 23 points and had one steal. For most of the night he just could not make shots. Many people say the Boston defense did it, but Kobe has never once shot over 46.9 percent from the field in his career and only 40 percent in the Finals.

True Finals MVP Gasol led the way but Kobe got the credit. It says alot about today's brain-dead NBA fans and their lack of knowledge of who the greatest are.

Kobe WILL NOW NEVER be able to pass up #8 Larry Bird, #7 Hakeem Olajuwon, #6 Magic Johnson #5 Bill Russell #4 Shaq #3 Kareem #2 Wilt Chamberlain #1 Michael Jordan.

Kobe took a total of 39 shots in game 7 (freethrows included) and only had 23 points. How lucky was he that they played a bad team in the finals? Boston sucks.

In order to be considered as good as Jordan and the other seven, Kobe will have to do better than that. But he won't, in fact he will never win another title again.

Isn't it sad NBA fans that this is the best we have to see: 6/24 and 0/6. Sad. What has the NBA come to?

Let's hope players get better over the next few years. I weep for the NBA.
