Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd Announce Breakup, Reveal Split Happened Before WNBA Season
Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd are no longer in a relationship.
On the latest episode of Fudd's podcast with Bueckers as a guest (starts at 6:38 mark), the Dallas Wings teammates announced they split up and said the breakup happened over a year ago before Fudd was selected No. 1 in the 2026 WNBA draft.
Bueckers and Fudd, who were also teammates for four seasons at Connecticut from 2021 to '25, went public with their relationship in 2025 when Bueckers appeared on the WAG Talk show on TikTok.
After Fudd was drafted by the Wings in April, Bueckers spoke during the team's media day session about both of them being able to separate their personal relationship from being teammates on the court:
"Me and Azzi have always been the utmost professional. We've always conducted ourselves as such, and we've never let anything that happens off the court carry onto the court. That's what we continue to do. Me and Azzi are not new to this. We've been doing this for a long time. We have countless reps at it. We have a lot of experience with it, so we will continue to use that experience to show up and be professionals, great teammates, great leaders, the hardest workers, and continue to show up and do our job and help the Dallas Wings win basketball games."
Bueckers was the No. 1 pick by Dallas in the 2025 draft. They are the first pair of college teammates to be taken with the top pick in the WNBA draft since another UConn duo Tina Charles in 2010 and Maya Moore in 2011.
The Wings won a franchise-record 27 games during the 2026 regular season and made the playoffs for the first time in three years. They lost in the first round to eventual-champion Golden State Valkyries.
Bueckers made the All-Star team for the second consecutive year. Fudd ranked fourth among all rookies with 13.1 points per game and shot 39.7 percent from three.
