Season Standings
1: Arizona Diamondbacks (36-19-2) – The D’Backs played a pair of 1-0 extra inning games against the Dodgers last week to wrap up a woeful road trip. The signs are there that perhaps ‘totals’ are starting to even out just a bit for Arizona, but at 17 games over the .500 mark, this is still a fantastic team to be making MLB betting picks on when you’re dissecting over/unders.

2: Milwaukee Brewers (32-21-4) – The Brewers finally found the cure to their ‘over’ fever: They ran into the Cardinals at Busch Stadium. There, the team only scored eight runs and went 0-2-1 towards the ‘over’ to drop back within striking distance of falling off of this list. With another low scoring team heading to Miller Park this week in the Cubbies, that may be just what happens by this time next week.
3: Chicago White Sox (31-22-2) – The South Sides make their first appearance on the ‘over’ list on the first Monday of June, and it seems to make logical sense why they are here. Both LHPs Mark Buehrle and Gavin Floyd have been miserable all season long, closer Bobby Jenks has been nothing to write home about and may soon be getting excommunicated from the Windy City, and the team is on a clip to blast 160 home runs this year.
Who’s Hot?
1: Boston Red Sox (5-1) – The Boston offense scored at least six runs in its previous six games before losing 4-3 to Baltimore on Sunday at home. Don’t tell anyone, but the Sox are just a handful of games behind the Rays and the Yankees now in the AL East standings, and the offense is suddenly up to averaging 5.41 runs per game. They have bashed 79 homers this year, the second most in baseball, and have a team OPS of a ridiculous .814.
2: Houston Astros (5-2) – The ‘Stros are suddenly finding ways to plate runs after having an offense that was just atrocious in the first part of the season. Houston is “up” to 3.30 runs per game and has a team batting average that is “up” to 3.30. The team has only knocked 34 home runs all season long, but if it can average 5.28 runs per game like it did this week, eventually, it won’t rank either last or next to last in every major offensive category in baseball like it does right now!
3: Texas Rangers (5-2) – Is it just us, or was DH/RF Vladimir Guerrero the best offseason signing in baseball this year? “Vlad the Impaler” has a five game hitting streak going, and he leads the team in both batting average (.335) and home runs (12). He has six extra base hits in his L/9 games and is clearly a large part of the reason that Texas has scored at least five runs in four straight games to lead the ‘over’ charge.
