The top two teams in Division One both lost in the latest round of fixtures, leaving Lancashire the only unbeaten side in the league.

Nottinghamshire stay top on 96 points after four wins and one defeat.

Nottinghamshire faced winless Hampshire at home but lost the match by two wickets.

The home side made 270 in their first innings thanks to Steven Mullaney's 97, while James Tomlinson took 5-66.

Hampshire replied with 305, Jimmy Adams making 96 and Andre Adams taking 4-56.

Nottinghamshire made 315 in their second innings as Alex Hales hit 136 but Sean Ervine took 4-31.

Hampshire chased down the target of 281 with only two wickets to spare thanks to Neil McKenzie's 115 not out.

Yorkshire are second on 89 points after three wins, one defeat and two draws.

The White Rose county made a bright start at Taunton scoring 405 with Adam Lyth hitting 142 as Ben Phillips took 4-76.

Somerset replied with 377, Arul Suppiah top scoring with 99.

Yorkshire declared on 333-4 in their second innings as they pushed for a postive result.

However the decision backfired, as Somerset chased down 362 for the loss of only four wickets at a run rate of 5.54 per over to seal the win.

Lancashire are third on 83 points after three wins and two draws after completing the double over Warwickshire at Edgbaston.

The Red Rose county made 354 in their first innings, Steven Croft top scoring with 89 not out.

The home side were skittled for just 113, Neil Carter (69) the only man to make double figures as Glen Chapple 5-27 ripped through the line-up.

However, Lancashire only managed 199 second time around and were grateful to Saj Mahmood's 72 as Andew Miller took 5-58.

Chasing 441 for victory, Warwickshire made a valiant effort as Jonathan Trott made 150 and Carter again frustrated the away side's bowlers with 73, but were eventually dismissed 65 runs short of their target.

Durham are fourth on 59 points with two wins, one defeat and two draws following their latest win against Kent.

Kent scored 424 in their first innings, Rob Key finding his form with 261 while Steve Harmison took 4-52.

Durham replied with 418 thanks to Ben Stokes's 161 not out despite Makhaya Ntini's 5-84.

Kent slumped to 162 in their second innings and Durham polished off the runs needed to win for the loss of four wickets.

Somerset are fifth on 58 points, with one win, two defeats and two draws after their win against Yorkshire.

Warwickshire slip to sixth on 56 points with two wins and three defeats.

Essex had no game this rouns and are seventh on 53 points with one win, two defeats and three draws.

Hampshire's shock win against Nottinghamshire lifts them off the bottom on 51 points with one win, four defeats and one draw.

Kent slip to the foot of the table on 44 points after their defeat to Durham and are the only side without a win after three draws and three defeats.

The next round of fixtures, May 24-27, sees Durham face Kent, Hampshire host Yorkshire, Lancashire play Essex and Somerset against Warwickshire.
