County Championship Division Two, Round Six
Division Two has a new leader after Sussex suffered their second straight defeat and Glamorgan recorded their third successive win.
The Welsh side sit top of the table on 97 points after six games with four wins and two defeats.
Their latest win came at the hands of Gloucestershire at home by an innings and four runs.
Gloucestershire made 417 in their first innings Alex Gidman (97) and James Franklin (95) just falling short of centuries.
Glamorgan replied with 583-9 declared as Ben Wright made 172 and Jim Allenby 105 despite the best efforts of Anthony Ireland's 5-114.
Gloucestershire then crumbled to 162 as Dean Cosker took 3-32 in 25 overs to hand Glamorgan the win.
Sussex are second on 93 points from 6 games with four wins and two defeats.
Their latest defeat came at Northampton by three wickets.
Sussex only managed 175 in their first innings, Chris Nash top scoring with 78.
Northamptonshire were indebted to Stephen Peters who scored 136 in a total of 274.
Sussex managed 269 second time around with Michael Thornely (51) and Robin Martin-Jenkins (55) making half-centuries.
Northamptonshire held their nerve to chase down 171 with three wickets remaining.
Worcestershire are third on 79 points with three wins, one defeat and one draw after five games.
They won their latest game against Derbyshire by eight wickets.
The home side piled on the runs in the first innings with 559-8 declared, Daryl Mitchell making 148 and Alexei Kervezee 130.
Derbyshire recovered from 108-6 to make 295 thanks to last-man Steffan Jones blasting 86 from 70 balls in a last wicket partnership of 123.
Following on the away side managed 389 with Garry Park scoring 124 not out.
Chasing 126, Phil Jacques made 94 from 57 balls to lead the home side to victory.
Gloucestershire slip to fourth on 76 points after three wins and three defeats following their defeat to Glamorgan.
Northamptonshire climb to fifth after their win against Sussex on 69 points after three wins, two defeats and a draw.
Middlesex are sixth on 67 points with two wins, four defeats and a draw after their match against Surrey ended in a draw.
Surrey made 490 in their first innings thanks to Mark Ramprakash's 223 while Shaun Udal took 5-128.
Middlesex slumped from 163-0 to 324 all out after Andrew Strauss (92) and Scott Newman (91) were dismissed in the ninties as Jade Dernback took 5-68.
Surrey made 207-3 before declaring in their second innings, Ramprakesh scoring his 111th first class century in the innings.
Chasing 374, Middlesex finished on 189-3 as the match ended in a draw.
Derbyshire are seventh on 65 points, with two wins, three defeats and a draw after their latest defeat to Worcestershire.
Leicestershire are eighth on 52 points with two wins and three defeats with no game this round.
Surrey stay bottom despite their draw on 30 points with three defeats and two draws.
The next round of fixtures, May 24-27, sees Derbyshire host Gloucestershire, Leicestershire face Glamorgan, Northamtonshire play Surrey and Sussex against Worcestershire.
