TNA Cutting the Budget: Which Decisions Will Be Made?
According to several online reports, TNA will be trimming their budget.
Reports are indicating that there is too much talent on the roster.
In my honest opinion, TNA could definitely trim the roster to make way for bigger and better things.
Also, should the creative team get a cleanup as well?
Here are my opinions on the situation.
For the roster cuts, TNA could benefit from trimming the budget.
The company has big name talents such as Hulk Hogan, Jeff Hardy, Rob Van Dam, Ric Flair and more.
However, many people are not too pleased with the older stars getting TV time over some of the originals.
People like Scott Hall and Sean Waltman are talents to begin with.
Both, in my opinion, need to go.
Hall is a bit out of shape and although I like to see him on TV, he isn’t the same talent that he was in the WCW days.
Waltman can still wrestle and throw in an entertaining match but his character just isn’t flowing with TNA.
Tyson Tomko also needs the boot. He, in my opinion, isn’t exactly a valuable asset to the company.
Other names that should also get the slip are Dr. Stevie, Magnus, and Raven.
Orlando Jordan, who signed a multi-year deal with TNA not too long ago, is borderline but I believe he could serve quite well if his character is dealt right.
Right now, his current feud with Rob Terry is questionable to many.
Rhino is another talent I think is borderline.
From sources I’ve read online, TNA would like to take a step back in the 1990s and form an ECW like storyline.
Interesting.
I think for now, Rhino is safe. He could be used again in a much bigger role if the storyline ever went through.
The creative team could also use a hand.
Vince Russo, one of TNA’s writers, certainly could be used very successfully when writing the beginning chapters and throwing things against the wall.
However, in the long run, his story lines are the opposite of what people want it seems.
In my view, TNA should give Russo a different position or an exit out of the company.
The Eric Bischoff and Hulk Hogan takeover hasn’t exactly gone as smoothly as people had hoped for.
However, it isn’t time to give up.
All it takes is a hot storyline to turn things around.
Overtime, in my eyes, TNA will grow stronger.
Moving back to Thursdays was the right move and they need to stay there in order to create an impact on the wrestling business.
Cutting the budget could benefit TNA. There are definitely talents who need to be shown to the door.
