Is Tim Tebow Making a Bad Decision Skipping the Party?: 2010 NFL Draft
They say actions speak louder than words. If that’s true, then Tim Tebow’s decision not to attend the NFL draft is practically screaming.
Basically, it tells other teams one of two things. Either that Tebow doesn’t expect to be drafted in the first round or that he doesn’t care.
And neither message is a positive one to send when you have yet to play a down in the NFL.

Does it matter? Maybe and maybe not.
While I don’t think that a team that is interested in Tebow is going to back off just because he isn’t sitting in a chair at the Radio City Music Hall in New York, I do think it may make some teams that are on the bubble rethink their decision.
They may think "Gee, if Tebow doesn’t think he’s being drafted in the first round, then are we making a mistake?"
"Does that mean we can wait and perhaps he will fall to us in the second round?"
Why even give teams that impression? Not only that, it creates a bad image of Tebow; since he’s not going to be the star of the show, so to speak, then he wants no part of it.
Now, perhaps this is being too harsh on the young man. Maybe he truly does believe it would be too hard to get his family and friends to New York in time for the draft's first round on Thursday night.
Still, ever hear of an airplane Tim? They do wondrous things to get people around the country in a matter of hours these days. And this event was not exactly planned at the last minute, you know.
To me, it tells us that Tebow would feel embarrassed to have his family and friends attend only to find out that he is not selected until Friday.
Which is fine, it’s his decision, obviously. But what’s wrong with showing up to root on your teammates?
CB Joe Haden and C/G Maurkice Pouncey are both expected to go in the first round.
Now, I don’t expect Tebow to be drafted in the first round, either. And if he's not there, I certainly won't miss him.
But still, he’s been one of the faces of college football for four years and owes a lot of his celebrity to television and ESPN.
You know it would be a good storyline for ESPN, being able to show a shot of Tebow's face with every passing pick. This would be especially true once Sam Bradford and Jimmy Clausen get selected.
You’re a charitable guy, Tim, it’s time to give back a little.
