Premier League Short Game Previews: Week 32

Birmingham vs Arsenal

Whilst Birmingham have no new injury worries to contend with they are still without Murphy, Carsley and O’Connor.

Arsenal have won every one of their last six matches, although when looking at statistics it is important to look at the fact that Birmingham isundefeated in their last eleven home matches.

Arsenal is clearly head and shoulders above the home side in terms of sheer class, but the real question is whether the blues will be able to hold out for a draw.

Bolton vs Manchester United

Cahill returns to the Bolton side, which is good news as fellow defender Steinsson is currently unavailable, due to a suspension picked up against Everton.

Bolton have the worst record in the premiership against the top four, although recently Bolton’s home form has picked up and with rumours about Rooney not being match fit, they might have a chance to pick up at least one point from the top four.

Chelsea vs Aston Villa

Chelsea have even more injury concerns in the defensive area, having picked up yet another injury in the form of Carvalho.

However, even with the unfortunate string of injuries which Chelsea is suffering from at the moment, it still seems unlikely that Villa will pick up a favourable result against Chelsea at home, seeing as though they have not lost at home to Villa since 2002.

Hull vs Fulham

Hull has become a bit of a bogey team for Fulham, who have not managed to get a win at Hull since 1996.

And considering Fulham’s abysmal away record this season, things aren’t looking too likely to change.

This game seems to be a match up of landmark matches. Schwarzer is making his 400th appearance, Konchesky is making his 300th and Hull winger Hunt is making his 100th .

Tottenham vs Portsmouth

Tottenham is set to have four last minute fitness checks ahead of Saturday's match— up against Portsmouth, although considering they already have six other first team players certainly ruled out, they’re going to put out a significantly weakened side regardless.

Relegation is all but certain for Pompey, although there is no reason why they couldn’t pick up some points against a half strength Tottenham.

West Ham vs Stoke

West Ham are looking to see the return of Dyer and Gabbidon, although that is by no means an end to their injury worries.

While Stoke has been on a pretty good run away from home in recent weeks and are unbeaten in their last four away games, this doesn’t bode well for the Hammers, who have lost their last five games due mostly to shoddy defending.

Wolverhampton vs Everton

Everton are hoping to see Howard, Cahill and Rodwell fit to play, all of whom are struggling with minor injuries.

Both sides are coming off the back of reasonable mid—week victories, although Everton is currently still on blistering league form, the Wolves are currently on their best run of form all season which doesn’t say much for their season.
