The Hardcore Revolution: The Road To WrestleMania and TNA's Product
The Monday Night Faux Wars are extremely lopsided as they stand now and the WWE is only a few days away from the grandest stage of them all.
Rumors are in full swing about TNA storylines and possible endings for WrestleMania matches.
So raise your hands to your computer screen and pledge to be all that you can be cause:
The Hardcore Revolution has begun!
I find it quite absurd that everyone is calling Monday night's the Monday Night Wars again. If it is a war there is only one side fighting with miniature garden tools and the other side is equipped with every weapon known to mankind.
There is no validation to TNA claiming that they are even in the same league as the WWE. I only say this because the TNA product is just by far worse than the WWE's. TNA has some really great talent, but it is used poorly. Right now TNA's motto is do what the competition doesn't. This includes blood and bad storylines. The only way I see TNA succeeding is coming up with some good ideas on where feuds should go and stop pandering themselves as a "reality" show. Last nights Impact was horrendous and completely Marked out to a T and the announce team did some horrible acting when Hernandez, for all intents and purposes, got killed off the show.
I believe you all have had enough of my rants on TNA for the moment so I will get into the nitty gritty of WrestleMania. So far 9 matches have been announced and all could go either way and leave a big impression on the direction the WWE is going to go from here.
So there is the Streak vs the Career match, the Montreal Screwjob Revenge match, the I'm the face of the WWE match, the you're not healed but I'll get speared match, the MITB match, the ShoMiz v I don't belong here match, the next game match, the Legacy match, and the CM Punk preach and get pinned match.
The Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels will be yet another classic and as sad as I am to say it something great will be ended Sunday. I happen to think because of the stipulations put on the match that it will be the Streak, but we have been swerved before. My idea for this match is that someone will interfere with the Undertaker, to start a feud with him in the future, while Michaels is unconscious or incapacitate at some point and from there the story writes itself.
The McMahon vs Hart match is going to be interesting. I feel as if neither should really wrestle due to past injuries and current situations, but it will be one hell of a match. I want to see The Hart Dynasty get involved, but we'll see what happens. Of course Hart wins, most likely by submission, but it's going to either be great or terrible.
John Cena wins, I think that's enough said, especially after Batista was completely emasculated on RAW. I would actually love to see Batista win and further himself as probably the 4th best Heel on TV, but Cena is going to win at Mania and that's about it. This will be a terrible match, with the typical Hero finish for SuperCena.
The Jericho, Edge match is going to be wonderful. To be honest Jericho needs to win. That will most likely not be the case, but it's what needs to happen. Jeicho will get Edge in a very sticky predicament that will lead to Jericho becoming over confident and SPEAR! Match is over, another NEW Champion is crowned.
All I can say is Christian, but you got a ton of talent. We can definitely weed out MVP, Matt Hardy, sadly Kane, Evan Bourne, Shelton Benjamin, and Jack Swager. This leaves us Christain, Kingston, Zigglemiester, and the Scottish Wonderboy. Any of those four will win the match, my money is on Christian, but I could see a young gun taking the reigns.
I would love to say ShoMiz, but I dont know they are really pushing Truth/Morrison. It would be nice to see something different in the Tag department, but ShoMiz always weasels out the win.
Triple H vs Sheamus is going to be an interesting bout and I cannot for the life of me predict the winner. This match must build both competitors and yet end with either Sheamus winning or H doing pulling out a modified Cena ending. Either way it's going to be interesting.
I am always up for Ted Dibiase Jr. winning a match, but come on Eileen this is Randy Orton's night. He is the NEW Rock/Stone Cold of this Generation and is the true face of the WWE. Two devastating RKO's later and ding ding ding, Randy Orton is your winner.
OOOO This will be my favorite match. I've got my hair down real low and my hand already placed on my television screen waiting to go Mark-crazy for CM Punk and the Straight Edge Society. Too bad Mysterio is going to unleash hell on earth. It be a great dynamic if Rey Rey would lose, but like the Cena match the Baby Face is going to get the last word with some high spots and a lackluster finish.
Today my Points Of Interest are all TNA related. We have covered the WWE very thoroughly and I feel like explaining my thoughts about TNA.
1. Is ECW vs WolfPac a good idea?
-This would have been a great idea, about 10 years ago. Now it will be a group of old men vs a group of older men who are on their last legs. It will not end well though it will be full of nostalgia. Will it take away ratings from the WWE, maybe, but it's not going to be something substantial and when it's over it's over. There is no gain from it. You'll lose those fans who came to watch that, when those stars are gone. It's just going to be a train wreck from the beginning to the end. What a sight it will be, but a train wreck none the less.
2. Are Hardy and RVD are being used poorly?
-After watching Hardy/RVD vs Beer Money I was appalled. In the WWE that match would have been much better planned out. It just seemed like Hardy and RVD are just running on their fame right now and not thier skill. Argh! It just tears me up inside to watch this happen the way it's happening. I feel as if the overall product of their matches are just not what they used to be. Don't get me wrong I love that RVD is back on TV, but Hardy is just fading and fading fast, just waiting for when his life completely hits the fan, once his trial get's underway.
Sorry for the sad end to that one folks.
3. Does FAKE Reality make for good product?
-If you have watched TNA television or NXT you have seen reality wrestling. My questioning is, does it work? To me TNA has done a poor job of promoting their product and putting together a cohesive program that a fan can really get behind. NXT has also had this problem, but I at least care about 2 of the Rookies. It just seems to me that reality TV is just over played and though I as a fan want a real effect on the show, I don't want it forced and shoved down my throat, like I have no idea that what I'm watching is scripted. If it's going to work, it needs to get better and fast. What that means, I don't really know, but I do know that something has to change for TNA to even come close to being in competition with the WWE.
Well as always
