Anti-Arsenal Ryan Shawcross Is "Not That Type of Player": Blameworthy FA
Aaron Ramsey is shattered into pieces, both physically and psychologically, but we're helpless. Lots of assurances are going around, and I hope he makes a full return by next Christmas.
Coming to Ryan Shawcross. As expected, no body is daring to accuse or speak against this thug. Only a handful of "loyal" Arsenal supporters are engaged in pointing out his flaws and the impact of the moment of madness on a young player.
Now, I must be objective. Shawcross is not a malicious player. He was sent off for the first time in his short career; valid point which the Stoke manager, fans, and media like to hold up as the first set of defense. Forget about the past. He went in with both legs and shattered the bright career of a young player. He was "not that type of player" before this game.

He don't have a single drop of bad blood in his body. He never wanted to do it deliberately. It just happened and bad luck for Ramsey.
Alright, the same defender once tackled Emmanuel Adebayor. Don't forget the ball was out of play and still went in with a hard tackle. He deliberately targeted Adebayor's ankle. The injury that Adebayor sustained forced him out for more than three weeks.
It was a deliberate attempt to break the legs but Adebayor was strong enough to withstand, unlike the youngster Ramsey.
Video of Tackle on Adebayor by Shawcross.
After watching this video all the "anti-Arsenal Horde" should take a deep breath, then ask yourself- Should this thuggery be allowed to defame the reputation of World's best League anymore?
Teams like Birmingham City, Stoke City, and Blackburn are defaming the League. I have intentionally left out Bolton, only because of Owen Coyle—he's a great manager whose vision is positive and wants to play football in the way it should be played.
Premier League's success is mostly associated with the quality of the teams like Arsenal, Manchester United etc. Most of the teams are playing competitive football in the right spirit, but a few teams are playing spoilsport. They shouldn't be allowed to play in the World's best League. No body wants to see dirty football. Talented and skillful players aren't protected in the Premier League.
Just recall the serious injury suffered by Eduardo, he was playing the best football of his life and had to stay away from the pitch because of a deliberate career-threatening challenge. The least you would expect is reasonable punishment for the culprit to set a standard and by doing so minimizing similar incidents in the future.
However, What did Martin Taylor get for his bitchy tackle? He was banned for a few weeks, then came back and continued his malicious play. He never bothered to issue an apology and Arsene Wenger's furious remarks were tagged as the reason for Eduardo's injury, later Wenger was forced to apologise for his comments.
I strongly accuse FA. They're dumb and insane. Spineless English FA are only interested in sending teams like Portsmouth into Administration, but doing virtually nothing for the safety of players. If it continues, people would go and watch La Liga and Serie A. There is no value for quality in the Premier League.
In a few years don't be surprised to find this league full of Martin Taylors and Shawcrosses. FA must take heart from La Liga and take a look at how they're protecting a talented player like Lionel Messi. Refereeing standard is pretty high in the Spanish League, Refs are clearly protecting skillful players and not allowing any thuggery.
Why don't English FA address the referees and send a strong word to protect the better and talented players. Isn't it ridiculous to have only a three match for the most reckless and malicious tackles one could ever witness.
Moreover, Alex Song is banned from two games after collecting the 10th yellow of the season. That's only one game short of Shawcross' punishment. Both players are facing similar penalties, but one of them terribly destroyed the career of a player and forced him out for a long period, whereas the other one is banned for collecting a handful of yellow cards most of them because of some poor refereeing, so how is justice done?
Arsenal are on the receiving end of everything. No Team in the League suffers similar number of injuries that Arsenal endures season after season. Three dreadful injuries in a span of four years might sound coincidental, but it has happened to the same team and that's not coincidence.
They play the best football in the League. They're the most attractive with a breath-taking style of play. They bring forth hatred for their beautiful football—it's a compliment, actually.
Presently, no team in the Premier League is capable of playing the Arsenal way. They can't and they won't. So Arsenal is the most hated team in the League and Wenger is the worst manager in the League for playing Total football.
People may start liking Arsenal, only if they adopt the Birmingham and Stoke style, but it's better to be on the receiving end of jeers for playing beautiful football rather than being cheered for breaking legs.
Ironically, a player commits a career-threatening challenge and gets selected for the national team, all in a single day. How very nice! The yardstick of qualification to England's national team is the severity of the tackle and the aggressive nature of a player. I suppose that's enough to justify England's failure in the International stage, despite having some of the best footballers in the world.
Starting from the FA everything needs to shake up. Stricter rules must be implemented. Refereeing standards must be raised. Skills and talents should be protected. Clear warning should be send to teams who promote thuggery.
Managers like Big Sam and Alex McLeish should be taught a lesson on how to earn success and respect without anti-football tactics. Finally, players like Ricardo Fuller should be banned from the Premier League for promoting violence and anti-Arsenal statements through media. These trolls who spoil the beautiful game called football must be whipped in public.
It's easier said than done. Nonetheless, a technical team like Arsenal must be allowed to play their game with utmost security for their players. After all, We're not here to watch violence and brutal acts on a football pitch.
P.S: Support Arsenal and shun violence.
