NFL Draft: What's at Stake for CJ Spiller at the 2010 NFL Combine?
Going into the NFL Scouting Combine, many players will increase or decrease their draft stock based on their individual performances in various events. With the big buzz that has been surrouding him, Clemson running back CJ Spiler can easily cash in with a solid performance in Indianapolis.
Spiller has been one of the most electrifying college players over the past season running the ball, catching the ball, returning the ball, and just getting his hands on the ball in the open field.
Some of Spiller's greatest attributes are: his solid bulk, his extremely fast gamebreaker speed, his instinct and patience, his great vision for cutbacks, which helps make him even more elusive, his soft hands and his ability to break a ton of tackles.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Just to name a few.
Currently projected in the middle of the first round, Spiller's speed alone could vault him into the top ten.
Smaller players that are extremely fast and elusive have become very popular in the NFL. Players like: the Eagles' DeSean Jackson, the Vikings' Percy Harvin, and the Titans' Chris Johnson.
Each of these players are under six-feet tall and run the 40-yard dash in under 4.4 seconds.
Spiller stands at 5'11" 195-pounds and has also been clocked around 4.35 in the 40-yard dash. Coaches and scouts will drool over him because he fits the new and smaller mold of gamebreakers perfectly.
Last year, the Titans' Johnson proved to the NFL that a smaller running back can be a workhorse, running all around defenses for over 2,000 yards. Spiller might be able to do the same.
Spiller's stock could rise with many teams looking for a back with that same blazing speed as Johnson. If he can run a sub-4.4 40-yard dash, then he will be looking at a pay increase of approximately $10+ million in guaranteed money.
Even though his skill-set will most likely not have him dropping on any draft boards, Spiller can move up. Teams like the 49ers, Seahawks, or maybe even the Dolphins are all looking for a playmaker like him come draft day in April.
Regardless of where Spiller ends up getting picked, he should make an impact immediately in the NFL. There is not too much he can do to hurt his stock at the combine right now.
