Diamonds in the Rough Who May Become Serious Contenders in the NFL.
History has shown us that most players that are top picks in the draft do not stand up to the hype like they did in College football some do but most are disappointments that is why I like looking at some underdog players who will be drafted in the later rounds here are a few who I think will become Diamonds in the rough.
QB-Dan LeFevour is from Central Michigan and is 6-3, 229 LBS he is not the fastest runner with a time of 4.80 but he put up great numbers throughout his time with the Chippewas. Just this season alone he was very accurate with a completion of 69.9 percent of his passes, and threw for 28 TD’S to just seven interceptions, and the great thing is he improved from 2008 with 66.8 completion, 21 TDS, and just six picks. In 2007 he had 27 TDS with 13 picks and a 65.4 percent in passing. The point is he improved every year he played and he seemed to gain knowledge as he matured in the game. I watched him play against Troy in the GMAC bowl and he was very competitive his team was down many times in the game yet he remained calm and collected he helped tie the game to send it into 2 overtime’s then drove his offense down the field to win the game he could be one of those QBS that everyone asks “where did this guy come from”?

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
RB-Anthony Dixon is from Mississippi State and is 6-1 and weighs 245 LBS he finished with 1,391 YDS and 12 TDS averaging 5.4 YPC, plus he can catch out of the back field. Why would I make this guy a diamond in the rough? It is simple really Seattle already has a good RB Forsett has shown he can be a threatening RB, however we need a bruiser to wear down defenses during the time of the game, Forsett is not the guy to do that, but a guy that is 245 LBS sure could. Why would we need someone like Spiller, who weighs 195 LBS around the same weight as Forsett, when Forsett already has two years in the NFL and has a great YPC average already? Seattle needs a bruiser who can gain short yardage and make goal line touch downs, which Forsett cannot do.He looks pretty good on utube one play he leaps 5 YDS for a touchdown against LSU and no one got in his way I don’t blame them.
FB-Cory Jackson is from Maryland and is a big guy at 6-1 and 245 LBS who is extremely good at blocking, however there are times when he does get the ball and he runs at defenders not away from them, another bruiser and he is an extremely good blocker. It would be nice to have a Mack Strong on the field again with an attitude to go with it.
WR-Get rid of Branch and replace him with a ship, Jordan Shipley from Texas 6-0 and weighs 195 LBS why? Because he is a competitor who did not give up even when his QB was injured, 10 catches for 122 YDS, and 2 TDS in the national title game. He still made plays even with a QB he barely ever played with and still got the job done that shows that he can adapt to a new system quickly, and the best part is he will not shatter when he gets hit.
OG-Mike Johnson Alabama 6-3, 306 LBS. Why because Seattle wants to be a zone blocking team and this is what Mikes expertise is.
OT-Jared Veldheer, is from Hillsdale is 6-9!, 321 LBS not much is known about this guy because he comes from a school not well known but he is a giant OT who seems like he could hold off some pass rushers, he is pretty tall as well hopefully that would not cause a problem for the QB.He does look like a beast on utube doing the hang clean at 425 LBS though.
C-Maurkice Pouncy, Florida 6-5, 318 LBS Just for the simple fact that he has experience in three positions Center, guard, and right tackle. Might come in handy.
DT-Terrence Cody, Alabama he is 6-4, 370 LBS! Absolutely massive frame, Thick, strong legs, Wide base, Strong hands, Gets a nice push in the run game, Run-clogger and is often double teamed, Powerful, Quick off snap, Collapses pocket, Disengages blockers, Athletic for his size, Uses hands well, Shows some awareness, Good upside, Disruptive. Sounds like a bad ass nose tackle to me reminds me kind of like a Minnesota type of set up. Down fall probably could lose a few pounds for long term health issues, and he is a two down type of player.
S-Taylor Mays, USC 6-3, 231 LBS possibly a sleeping giant who had a slump last year. For how tall he is I would take a risk and draft him, oh and he is familiar with Carrol anyways.
To any one who reads this I would like you to know that I got this info from walterfootball.com I just have a feeling about these players and how they may be diamonds in the rough and how top looked at players usually are busts so lets root for players that we don’t know much about hope they are elite and get drafted by Seattle in later rounds for cheap contracts and turn this team around quickly.
