Anthony Johnson will have to wait once again to settle his well-publicized differences with John Howard.

Howard was originally expected to fight Johnson last summer, before he pulled out of the fight upon the advice of his management, who felt he wasn't ready to face a fighter of Johnson's caliber. That led to some intense verbal sparring between the two during the lead up to their fight, which was scheduled to take place on March 21 on the UFC on Versus event.

Unfortunately, Johnson's manager Ken Pavia has now revealed that Johnson has suffered a knee injury which will force him to withdraw fromย theย fight. There is no word yet on the severity of the injury, or how long it will keep Johnson sidelined.

Johnson, who is 8-3 in his career,ย last fought against Josh Koscheck at UFC 106, when he suffered a second-round submission loss.

Howard is 13-4 in his career, and has a current six-fight win streak, with his most recent win coming by way of knockout against Dennis Hallman at The Ultimate Fighter 10 finale.
