Los Angeles Doesn't Deserve A NFL Franchise
Phillip SchmitzFeb 8, 2010
I have three reasons why Los Angeles doesn't deserve a NFL franchise.
Reason #1
The city of Los Angeles has had 32 chances to keep a NFL franchise. They had a chance to keep the Raiders after the 1994 season, but they left Los Angeles and moved to Oakland for the 1995 season. Also in 1994, the Los Angeles Rams left the city of Los Angeles. The Rams relocated in St. Louis for their 1995 season.

I'm sorry, but California has the three strikes your out rule and they have had two strikes on keeping a team. Los Angeles is a basketball and a baseball city. It isn't a football city and a racing city.

Reason #2
There are other markets that the NFL can put teams in before they have a thought about putting a team back in Los Angeles.

Markets like Las Vegas, Memphis, Portland, or one of my favorite markets being Toronto. Canada has the Canadian Football League, and there isn't a problem putting a franchise in the city of Toronto. The NBA, MLB, and NHL have and they haven't had problems.
The only main problem would be the weather, but when you think about it, the weather in Toronto will probably be the same as it is in Buffalo. Toronto also has a stadium that has a roof that opens and closes.
Reason #3
The league has grown and expanded to higher levels since 1995, and that's without a team in Los Angeles. We have two new teams in Cleveland and in Houston, as well as relocation of the Oilers who moved from Houston to Nashville in 1997.

The league already has three teams in California with the San Diego Chargers, San Fran 49ers, and the Oakland Raiders. That ties the most teams in a state with Florida who also has 3 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Miami Dolphins, and the Jacksonville Jaguars.
So the league has expanded from where it was nearly 15 years ago to where it is now. It's making more money, more marketable, and become bigger every year. Every team now has either a nice brand new stadium like in Detroit, Dallas, Indianapolis, Phoenix, and Seattle, or they have a stadium that has history.
Sorry Los Angeles, you've had your chance. Now just go to a bar and watch NFL on TV. Or go watch the USC Trojans, or what's left of them.
