Hold On a Second, Nnamdi Asomugha a Jet? Well, I Guess It Could Happen
If you thought this offseason couldn't get any weirder, stranger, or unbelievable—think again.
With trades, free agents, unhappy players, and the annual draft approaching in April, players league-wide are seeking a new home to rest their feet, prop up, and begin training under a new uniform, and more importantly a new coaching staff.
Rumors are buzzing and the media is speculating, but who is going where? And will they be happy?

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Honestly, who knows.
One of the biggest stories that is yet to fully develop began to blossom today, as Cam Inman from the Oakland Tribune proposed the idea of a possible Nnamdi Asomugha trade from the Oakland Raiders to the New York Jets.
Arguably one of the few remaining talented players to remain in Oakland, Asomugha has managed to keep his composure in a team that has self combusted more than once in 2009. It's no wonder though that a player of his athleticism is considering a possible move from the West Coast.
But the New York Jets? The once-cursed team that has a carefree but loud mouth New Yorker-type coach that is relentless on winning and doesn't give a damn who he flips off?
Well, it's Nnamdi's decision right?
Personally, I love the very idea of this trade going down. Even on paper it looks good. Asomugha and Darrelle Revis on the same sideline...well I think it's safe to say that OCNN would be reporting on behalf of all the scared wide receivers in the league.
2009 wasn't the kindest year to Asomugha, who only tallied up one interception, as the year of the "surging" Raiders vastly grew into a joke. Some of Asomugha's poor performance could do with lack of motivation. If you've ever played a sport in your life, then you know how hard it is to post great stats while your team is struggling to even show up.
Still, Asomugha is set to gain a whole lot of money out of a possible trade. Already earning $45.3 million, he may not be as valuable as Julius Peppers just yet, but the money is looking to be in the seven digit number category.
As for the Jets, this is a pick up that they could do with. Unlike past players, Asomugha doesn't come with a "one condition" type attitude, and he isn't used to winning—at all. Therefore there would be no real expectations from Asomugha, as I'm sure he'd be happy to just play on a potential up-and-coming team that many people have picked to win another Super Bowl in the next decade.
Wins and losses aside, Asomugha is the real deal. He was in his years with California, and he has been in his years with Oakland. A dominance is felt on the defensive side of the ball, and every bit of his seven years worth of experience is felt when he makes a big play.
The trade or possibility of a trade, may not be the biggest talking point this offseason, god knows that belongs to Brett Favre, but it will definitely generate some interest, and give us writers something to talk about.
The bottom line is, the Jets will succeed and the Raiders (once again) will be left scratching their heads as another piece of brilliance slips through their greasy fingers and runs away from them like an unloyal dog. But hey, Al Davis is used to it.
He's not the greatest, he doesn't make the most blockbuster plays, but he is an impact player that New York could do with.
"Seven straight years of losing isn't fun for anyone," said Asomugha in a recent interview.
We feel you Nnamdi, it isn't fun for us either.
"New York, New York, it's a hell of a town ..."
When or if Asomugha arrives, well that may just be an understatement in the Jets path toward their dream. Right now, try not salivate to much over this very idea. I know it is a lot to take in.
Just enjoy it—I promise it will be great if it happens.
